quick question for the pros

Hi everyone...first let me say that so many people on here have helped me. As I prepare for my very first grow....I decided to start things out with good old fashioned sun light. I have not taken pics of the girls yet but I will. Anyway I was debating on lighting and since Im new I figured a 430 HPS with a Son Agro bulb it was included was the way to go. I will be adding a EYE Hortilux bulb as soon as the system comes. My question is with the right care will it be possible to grow some nice crystally buds like I see in the gallaries on here or do I really need a 1000 W light for that. I will be growing in a basement...so size is not really an issue. So many things will be added to the room as money allows but for now...loading crates will be used to keep the plants off the floor. I have fans humidifiers and dehumidifiers and as it stands now I only have 7 plants which as of now are unsexed. I am working twards SOG but for now im only going with what I have. Im hoping to get a cheap MH so that when I start my Kali Mist I will be able to keep one Mother plant and just keep cloning her.

I dont think you have to use a big 1000watter but if you can why not?
the bigger the bulb the more lumens to the plants

Since its my first grow I thought that a 430 watt would give me a little bit more room for error. I know I could easily fry my ladies with either lamp but the 1000 would do it much faster plus I wasnt sure how much heat these things put off. So I figured for a first light it was going to be ok. 430 Sun System with the large reflector and a Son Agro bulb. I will also be changing the bulb to the Hortilux. Not sure how many hours were on this lamp since its second hand...but still excellent shape. Should have everything up and running by Thursday. Then I will work on an exhaust system for the room.
