i got 3 seeds in a thin glass cup, 20mm below wet soil, with plastic wrap covering the top, growing outside in my front yard.. what are my chances of success?

like a drinking glass that holds water with no holes in it for drainage, set out in the sun in a oven.loose the glass, put in bright location not direct sun for starters.

Listen to Unmeg he knows his shit...
Personally I have never done the Paper/Cup geminating trick.
I just put my seeds 5mm below the suface in egg cups full of mushroom compost.
and they pop up like there on steroids..
If your doing out door I cannot reccomend Mushroom compst enough.
Not Magic Mushys Just Normal Mushroom compost.IMO.the best seedling starter ever/:D

you should b able to get mushroom compost from your local nurery. or the local mushroom farm.As far as your question i dont think u have much chance of them serviveing if they dont cook they will probly falll over from the stress of being in a nice and very humid enviroment strait in to a very dry one.

that will help .You wont to let it adjust to the outside enviroment as slowly as possible. If the seed has already sprouted put a couple of holes in then a few more the next day and so on .Adjust it to the natural enviroment over about 1 week...hope this helps.....
