I have been smoking for a long ass time but thats besides the point. im here cause i have 4 plants in the growing stage. one is over a foot with huge shade leaves. the other ones are no bigger than 6-7 inches. anyways i need help on how to properly trim the shade leaves. when can these babys be put on like a 12 to 12 cycle? i think that is about it but if i think of more i will post. please help. thanks.

Depends on when to start the 12/12 cycle depending on your strain. I notice that your a newb to "growning" because we have no problems lol ;). If you could post some pictures of your "shade" leaves then please do. Please tell me what light you're growing under or if you're doing this outside. If you're growing it inside, put a fan in the same room with your plant with the shade leafs, the leafs wont get as big.

you should not trim any of the leaves yet......
the plant that is over a foot is ready for flowering....
the other ones may need a week or two.....
yes, add a fan in your room, it will help keeping the plants short as they will struggle standing against the wind blown to them by trying to promote a stronger root system......

Use something to raise the other plants so they get more light. Tuck the fan leaves back into the plant and use twist ties to hold them. don't cut them off the plant need them to control the internal temperature of the plant.

noshybridef...it's 12 and 12 not 12 to 12. You can put them into that regiment anytime you wish and even if it's a four inch plant it will start to flower. The huge leaves help the plant grow by using the sun's energy and is a sign that it is healthy but don't sweat it; you can snip them off close to the stock and a branch will appear in its place. Shit, even if you dont snip them a branch will show up there.
