undefinedundefinedThis is now my third set of plants that have died right when I thought I had perfection. I used bottle water soil with no nuts gave them 18/6 of light they were 3 days old and looking great and this morning they are just dead  makes me want to stop growing but I spent all of this money and I really want to see one of my plants make it past the seedling stage. I have a 6 in fan about 2 feet away from the babies the fan is not plowing right on them, and I have a 8 in fan as an exhaust plowing fresh air into my grow room, and four 40 watt flores lights about 5 inches away from the plants, the temp ranges from 85 to 91 F and the humidity is 35% to 55%. also I water when soil is dry about every other day. If you look at the pics of kareddie plants that is what they look like just laying over. Please Help me if there is any other information that you need to know about my grow room or watering anything just ask I need your help.
What are you feeding them?.. You might have over-nurished them. If they're still green just flopped over you probably gave it too much nutrients but I dont know what could be causing this other than that , but I think its definatly something you're doing if its the 3rd time. Take it step by step, plant them without a fan on them until they are about half a foot tall, then put the fan on them.

Need to know what kind of soil you are using.
It could have been damp off disease.
Pics would do wonders for a diagnosis.

The first batch that I killed I feed them super thrive they were about a week old and I think that that might of burned the roots, since then I will not fertilize them untill 2 to 3 weeks old and what I have been reading 3 to 4 weeks is the best time to feed them I only feed them spring bottle water so far. The fan is not directly on the plants it is olny to keep the air circulating and to keep the temp down because my grow room is so small width is 8 inches length is 4 feet and the height is 6 feet. And the temp is normaly high 80's or low 90's so could it have something to do with the temp being so hot. The brand of soil that I am useing is mirical grow moisture control and I went through all of the soil and picked out all of those damn nut's so it does not have any slow releasing fertilizer it is the about the only good soil that I could find for growing. Sorry I could not get any pics my camera on my phone is not working so I will go down to the store and try and get a new phone so I can post some pics.Thx guys.

Yah I don't put nutrients on my plants until 1 and a half or 2 months go by. Thats just what i do though. I grow outdoor though not indoor. Plants just seem to die when you fertilize them at a young age.dont put any nutes in the soil. get new soil cuz it is now tainted with nutes. I dont know what to say. I'm just being random. If you havent over fertilized them i dont see how they would die. Get new soil if ferts have been in it. Thats all i can think of.

Good Idea ontariogrower the nuts balls might of already released nutrients into the soil, but I had already picked out all of the nuts as soon as I got the new bag of soil, but i will take your advice anyway and go out and buy some new soil. also it could not have anything to do with the temp being so high and the humidity being so low this morning the humidity was at 28% is there anything that I can do to make the humidity higher or does it even matter, should be about 70% right? thx ontariogrower
Get a treadmill down there and start running boy :D.

What is that supposed to mean joel?
Bringgg up the room temp boy. God you must be running this shit in a freezer, 28% humidity? lol. I think they died because something you did shocked them while you wuz sleeping :(. I would suggest 24/7 light, thats what I did with my 3 plants and they turned out great. :D

28% humidity is what you're after when in flowering, the last two weeks of flowering......anyway, in order to raise the humidity levels up to 60-70% all you need to do is to place a couple of bowls of water nearby your plants....the water will slowly evaporate and raise the humidity levels.
Also try not to overwater and not overfertilise......take care.....post sum pics and have a nice grow!!!!!!!!!

tnx newgroweroldsmoker I will try water in a bowl. The room temp needs to go down not up joel I plantedsome germinated seeds two days ago and the are turning out to be fine so far, what I have been hearing is that 24/7 light is not good for the plants because they need at least a couple hours of dark but if yours turned out fine then I guess that It would be ok tnx joel. I am still trying to get some pix for you guys of my new plants and my set up that I have.

Hey Tim,
What do you mean you picked out the nutes? Are you sure your not picking out the perlite which aerates the soil. You could be suffacating the roots causing damping off as harddon said.

The nutes that are in the soil the fast releasing mirical grow plant food that can feed your plants for up to 3 months it says on the soil package. They are little clear balls they are in almost all mirical grow soil they just dissolve and feed your plants whenever , I am 100% positive that I did not pick out the perlite. Well this grow is going better then all of the other ones I hope they make it passed 2 weeks I hope that that anwsers your questions snow owl tnx.

O.k. I wasn't familiar with miracle grow and did not mean to pitch a thought that made either one of us look assanine. I did hear miracle grow is not good for resin plants, and besides, MJ has different nute needs at different phases. Good luck and keep a stiff chin in the face of dissapointment. You'll get it right.

yes your soil it self may already be packed with nutes, everytime you water you release the nutes once the water mix's,and yes I agree with the dude who said go 24/7 i always use's that time chart for new seedlings and clones, well you said they fall over and die when you wake up right! maybe it's during the lights out that the cold is coming in more so do to the lights being off?.............anyhow good luck

thx for the advice guys, I will take the timer off and put them on 24/7. My new babbies are doing great I have two in a mini hydroponic greenhouse that i got off line and I thought that is would be good to start them off in the seedling stage they are doing good only 4 days old and the two in the soil are 3 days old.

Hi there-
I'm sorry you had 3 grows turn out like my first one :( i hear ya i was SO pissed when mine died. but i now have 4 new seedlings in 50% organic potting soil, 50% perlite, with a dash of dolomite lime for PH control. Does the water you are using have any minerals or shit in it? I've been told to use distilled water which i got for like 50 cents a gallon at walmart. what else....you said soil with no nutes but then you said MG soil with nutes? little confused....what soil are you using now? i would stay away from anything with heavy ferts in it at all. oh, and from what ive read 18/6 is better especialy for seedlings since the dark period is hwen most of the root growth happens, thats what im doing. what containers are you using...i thought i was a genius to use clear cups to keep an eye on things but i was told by Zandor that light shouldnt hit roots cause it can kill them. so i cut holes in the clear 16 oz cups and put them inside 18 oz red cups, which is really convienent for looking at water levels, roots, and catching water drips. good luck! im hoping to get past 2 weeks two....im at like 3 days and 2 inches tall with first set of jagged leaves. when and where does the second set of real leaves start coming out?
good luck :)
kareddie
I dont believe it is distilled water only, I have been using tap water on SOME days that I have been short cash and cant get distilled water. My plants are looking very healthy.

So....If your suposed to keep the light on the seedlings 24/7, how long do I continue this until i go down to 18/6??????

kareddie the first two times that my plants died I was using mirical grow moisture control but after I found out that the nutes in the mg can kill your seedlings I picked out all of the nut balls in the soil so i am still using the same soil but will no nutes if that makes any sense. I am using two 6 inch clay pots and a mini hydroponic greenhouse. you should start to see the second set of jagged leafs come out on the third day at least that is when I see mine start to come out and they will come right out of center on the first jagged leafs, it matters on the strain that you have on how fast it grows and what kind of lights you have on it , I just have some bag seeds. Marijuana Guru420 if you have them on 24/7 light you do not go back down to 18/6, you want to put your plants on the 12/12 cycle when they are about 6 inches tall.

Ran into another problem guys my first set of jagged leafs they are about an 1 1/2 now and the second set started to come up about two days ago. These are the plants that are in my mini hydroponic greenhouse the tips on the first set of jagged leafs are starting to get a little yellow I think that it might be over watering or a burn from the light I doubt that is the light because I only have four 48 inch flores lights about 15 inches away. The hydroponic green house holds water very good I have only watered them once in the container that feeds them I think that it is over watering if so will it go away or will it kill off my plants and what can I do i am not watering them for the time being because the sand is still a little moist. Please any help would be great will they be fine sry no pic yet.
