Newbie to weed: anyone care to take me through?

Ok so on Saturday I'll be trying weed for the first time with a few (experienced) friends, and basically I'd really appreciate a run through of what happens your first time before, during, and after.. get me? Anything I have to be careful of, how to inhale (I'm not new to smoking, I smoke tobacco regularly) all good stuff like that. I really don't wanna be embarrasing myself here, so yeah - I'd like to be filled in if anyone would be kind enough. Thanks.

i can't explain the high, but before you go grab any munchies you can (it's like class you have to share witheveryone) make sure you have plenty to drink for the cotton mouth. hit it like you would a cigarette (if you're smoking a joint) but when you inhale don't just blow it back out estimate about 15 seconds before blowing it back out and repeate as nessicary, if using a pipe, same principal put the stem (part you suck from) up to your mouth and put a flame to the bowl (where the weed is) and start sucking, when it get lit enougth (coupel of seconds) take the lighter away it'll stay lit, but the more the lighter is on it the more it burns, same concept hold for awhile then exhale. bong is a bit more complicated depending on if it has a carb (small hole in the side somewhere) [some glass pipes have carbs also] you put your finger over the carb and begin to hit, keep hitting it until you about 2 seconds after you feel the smoke in your lungs, then you let go of the carb and suck really hard. if it has a slide (where the bowl assembly comes out of the bong, mainly on water bongs) you do the same with the carb except instead of removing your finger from the hole you take out the slide then power hit it. gravity bong, let them do the filling and then just suck out all the smoke (you'll know what i'm talking about if you smoke out of one) til the water reaches your lips ONE VERY IMPORTANT THING, IF YOU FEEL LIKE YOU ARE ABOUT TO COUGH NO MATTER WHAT YOU ARE SMOKING OUT OF PASS THE DAMN DEVICE, coughing into the smoke utensil is a seroius party foul and is very bad.

btw if you smoke out of a blunt (cigar) it's the same as a joint, and when you do get really high don't be afraid to say i've had enough, being ragged on for being weak is a hell ova lot less worse then smoking too much your frist time and puking/being sick and being turned off your first time . go to erwoid and do your reasearch, always do research on every drug you try, read experience reports and it's actual effects on the body .

Don't over do it, it could ruin weed for you and that would suck. Joint/Blunts would be best for a first timer. Gravity or normal bongs would probably be a little too powerful so stick to joints blunts or bowls.

Bear in mind that some people do not experience effects their first time smoking, or maybe even the first few times. The first time I smoked, nothing. The second time, still nothing. Third time: BAM!! So, if you don't feel anything the first time out, don't fret. My suspicion is that some people don't have sufficient CB1 receptors in their brains, but smoking weed for the first time begins to trigger the formation of additional receptors. Once sufficient receptors are present, then the effects of smoking become stronger. I don't know how frequent this condition is, but it seems to be fairly common, from what I can gather.

My advice is, be sure to hold it in, and not in your mouth but in your lungs, and you will probably get high, although a lot of people don't get high on their first try (like me), so if you don't feel anything don't worry, just try it a couple more times and you will definitely get it.

And don't worry about any negative effects. It will definitely be a very positive experience. I've been smoking for a few years now and I've never had a bad experience on pot (that wasn't caused by the pigs in blue, or somebody else who shouldn't have known I was smoking). Just don't get all paranoid. There really is nothing to worry about. One time my friend and I got this Lutheran choir boy to try pot and he was all freaked out about getting caught (even though we were in the top of a barn in the middle of bumfuck nowhere) and got totally paranoid, which was hilarious for us but probably not fun for him. I think he was just being a pussy and fretting about breaking his parents' wishes, but hey, what they don't know can't hurt them, so just sit back, relax, put on some mellow music and enjoy the ride. You won't regret it.

One thing i went through on my first time was that i was nervous and started to get second toughts.if that happens take a few deep breats listen to some music and decide weather or not to toke up. remember if you dont want to you dont have to. but try to be in a comftorble place with some trusted friends. but believe me its worth it. the first few times for me didnt work but stick with it and enjoy. have fun.

Haha. Well. I did it, but suprise suprise, didn't get in the least bit high. I was just very chilled, but that's probably because I had like, my first smoke in 2 days.. due to having no money. :/ I got a bit giggly once we'd finished the joint, but that was it. Hasn't put me off or anything, I know it'll be better next time.. so I'll be smoking some more on Saturday night and hopefully I should feel something then.

Ah yeah - it made my mouth feel disgusting, dunno if you can get cotton mouth on your first go but it certainly felt like I've heard it described.
