Hi Donniedarko,
I have a question for you.
I really truely like all the movies. some more than others. These includes kids videos I'm forced to watch with my kids. ( some are really good)
BUT I watched "The life aquatic" with Bill Murry and it stank!!!!
I never get to watch adult movies due to my lovely kids who needs to watch sponge bob so I can get some break.
I felt so crappy that I watched movie that I didn't understand and boring.
I usually enjoy the I don't understand and think about it why I don't like it and ends up liking the movie I didn't like.
Well I watched "The life aquatic" about 2-3 weeks ago and I still didn't get it. I want to find out why I don't understand and didn't like it.
Please please please tell me why you like "The life aquatic "

Wes Anderson seems to be one of those types who makes movies that people either love or hate. I love The Life Aquatic because it takes real life and distorts it into simpler terms, which makes it awkward, which suggests that real life is difficult and awkward. The shots are all framed and executed very carefully, which lends to the "snapshot in time" feeling, especially important with a plot that covers so much different ground. Plus I'm a sucker for Billl Murray.

Well Dick, I thought about it. Yeah you might have a point there. Maybe it reminds me of too much of reality. I watch movie to escape and when I saw the boringness and fakeness of the whole movie and saw nothing interesting because life is like that. Well thanks to you I think I might get an angle to this movie so I will find a reason to like it. I might even think all night in my subconciouse mind. Well, now I think I'll go to sleep excited. I have some new thoughts to ponder around. I think you people on this website is interesting. You guys don't seem to be fake.
Dick I liked your explaination, simple down to point and detailed. I wish I had that quality. I think I'm forever mummbling......................................... .................................................. .................................................. ......hopefully I can stop mummbling......................................... .................................................. ............................. I missed Lost in Translation in theaters, so I rented it and ended up watching it twice in a row, five times over three days. Terrific flick, and I truly am a Bill Murray sucker.
