I have 1000 watt hps light bought from general hydroponics. Can I use this light for the entire grow? With the exception of germination?

Yes, but MH would be better for veg. See if you can get a MH conversion bulb (not sure if they have 1k ones.) Goodluck.

Hortilux bulbs are great for the vegetation stage. Mh was the king for many years and you can't go wrong with them. But if you are buying new equipment then only get the HPS and Hortilux bulbs. You can veg and flower with one bulb I do now in one room and I have seen no difference at all.
