I hear there's even bigger catfish somewhere in the Mississippi. There's some kind of waterfall where the catfish just live beneath the undertowe of the fall. That way, the catfish doesn't have to hunt, it's food is right there. They live there their whole life and all they do is eat.

Thai fisheries officials had hoped to release this adult male Mekong giant catfish after they stripped it of milt (above) for a captive-breeding program. But the whopping fish, which was as big a grizzly bear, didn't survive.
