Just buy a Phototron & be done with nurturing ur plants. Set this machine up with what it needs & IT WILL provide u with superfast buds but not a huge yield.

That's very old school. You can build a C-13 cabinet for less and grow more with better security and include odor control too. During dark periods this thing needs to be in a dark closet or cabinet. So why not just use the cabinet or closet in the first place?

HARDDON
06-29-2005, 03:36 PM
Yea I was thinnking the same thing.....

BUT....

A couple of those would look so cool in my office.

As for the dark....couldn't you just throw a black thick comforter over it?

ZANDOR....

Can you email me? something I wanna discuss with you. Or maybe we can PM in chat.

I can talk 'almost' anytime...so let me know please.

What about the heat that would bring. What about the flow of air?
If you were not there to remove the blanket and the lights came on how hot would it get?

There is no truly easy way to grow. And no matter what, I wouldn't leave it up to a machine to do it for me. I like to get in there everyday and check and inspect. I like having my hands on. Old school, yeah, but I like to feel like I'm the one making it happen. It gives me this warm glow inside watching my babies grow and nurture under my tender ministrations. Till I cut the fucker down and smoke it. Yeah.

Of course, that's just my personal preference ... in part based upon the amount of cash outlay required otherwise. I set my grow room up for under $100 (not counting the lights), and with a slight modification or two, it'll be pretty jammin.

Maybe someday though ... I wouldn't rule one out

Self-contained with tinted reflective panels (which slide up and down) that provide an enormous amount of light output for accelerated plant growth without overpowering your living environment with excessive light or heat.

MUCH LESS heat then any setups I've seen here. No need to worry about ventilation, odor or darkness either.

Old SKOOL is still the best school.

no offense meant to Hardon & Zandor, both have more grow experience then I've had.

I never needed to grow very often as I know some growers for many years. They do their thing & knowing me they can get rid of whatever they need to at minimal risk.

You mentioned that air flow, heat, and aroma aren't a problem. Is that because you never have anyone around to detect it or notice it, or does this machine somehow overcome those problems?

I've seen these advertised in magazines before and always wondered if anyone had actually USED one. Do you have practical experience yourself?

As I posted previously, in this very thread, I had one until my exwife smashed it.
I haven't used one in 12 yrs, they are self sufficient.

but the yield is limited.

No offence taken by me dude I like a good debate. lol

Ok they use fluorescent light so that saves on heat. The way the bulbs are set on the side they also give sidelight and I like that. There is no odor control that I can find. But with less heat there are fewer odors to deal with. The slide doors to cover the glass are they manual or automatic? I see the best version they offer is still 14,000 lumens under a 400w HPS so I guess itā??s good for one plant. A little expensive for one plant.

Hey if it comes in a big box you can grow in that too.

http://boards.cannabis.com/showthread.php?t=18903

This guy did so I guess that gives you 2 grow rooms for the price of one.

Really; I was just kidding...for one plant or 2 they really are fine.

ROFLMAO :D :D :D

ZigZagZeppelin

Doors were manual when I had mine, likely they still are.

You can grow 2 plants quite easily.....if its just to supply one smoker it does the job.

LMAO....:D

I guess you did not appreciate my humor zig. ;)

For someone who is not technically inclined they are a very good alternative to some of the other stuff around that is for sure.

What was the yield you got again? 2 plants for one person sure a QP sounds about right. If you have a mother you could speed up the process too.

ZigZagZeppelin
06-30-2005, 03:26 PM
I think the Phototron is perfect for someone worried about odor, heat, ferts, co2, etc.

Its self sufficient but I dont remember gettin quite a QP. Almost, with higher yielding strains it could prolly be done in just over 60-70 days. The mid & lower buds are about the same size as the tops because of its lighting positioning, again depending on strain to a degree.

Zig, what is the grow medium? Is it lava rock?

Also, I supposed it would be better to go with Indica due to the height limitations, so what would you suggest? Blueberry, northern lights, or something else?

I suggest high yielding strains of indica, the medium is soil. They send u some with it but you can find better.

I drive down this beat road where this humungous corn field is & grab their soil. Shovels come in handy, lol.

ZigZagZeppelin
07-01-2005, 12:36 AM
Its a type of moss (the medium) that gets shipped to u. I used corn field dirt in it when I had it, seemed to start them faster.

Millions of people have bought these in the past 19 years. There ARE reflective adjustable panels, nimrod.

I donā??t know if that is a complement or an insult?

Anyway sorry but like I said they would be fine for a few plants. I bet if you had a mother and grew from clones you could use sorghum mix and do a sea of green type of grow. Think about it a second side lights like I preach about, fluorescent lights so heat is a minimum. Itā??s bettered then the box some have used.

It may not be my cup of tee or yours but for a single user personal use it could be quick and easy. I did not mean to say zizzagzeppelin was wrong or anything I thought I was being funny.

Bender, do you also put clones in a phototron machine? Or do you use it only for the mama?
