LOS ANGELES (AFP) - A moderate earthquake measuring 5.2 on the Richter Scale rattled northern California, but there were no immediate reports of damage or injuries, seismologists said.

The temblor, which shook the popular tourist resort area around Lake Tahoe at 11:45 am (1845 GMT), was the sixth significant quake to hit California in two weeks.
The shaker struck 19 kilometers (12 miles) north-northeast of Tahoe City and about 32 kilometers (20 miles) southwest of the Nevada gambling city of Reno, the US Geological Survey said.
A spate of quakes, including a 7.0 magnitude temblor earlier this month has made residents of the Golden State extremely jumpy and raised fears among many that the "big one" could be on its way.
This is the 7th quake within a month. They are right, the big one is coming. Better learn to swim or move farther into mainland. Surfs Up! :p
