what kind of bug do I have, and how do I kill them?!

Man O Man, my girl just started to flower the other day, and low and behold....I think she caught a bug. My leaves are starting to get these brown bloches and the fingers of the shade leaves are chewed up quite badly! What can I do? will they just go away or do plants normally get chewed on a little bit? Is there some kind of pesticide or preventive care??
HELP PLEASE!! Any knowlege will be greatly appreciated!
I dont have pics of the damage as of yet....but Im working on it.

sounds like a bug problem, but with no pics its hard to tell. they have things like seaweed extract thats supposed to be safe, and some people simply mix soapy suds and apply it, but whatever you do, be careful and dont over-do anything. ive tried the seaweed stuff and it worked ok.

Baby shampoo in a spray bottle.

Spray both top and underside of leaves, to point of run off.

Repeat in 3 days, if needed.
