The "do you believe in aliens??????" thread got a good response, so here we go with the "Do you believe in ghosts?" thread,
have you ever seen a ghost or had relatives or people you know claim to have seen one?
personally i have never seen any before and i'm not sure if i believe in them, like the Seance's (sp?) and stuff seem really fake, with glasses moving.. bollocks! (IMO it doesn't seem very realistic)
Has anyone here ever taken part in a Seance? and if so do you believe it was just someone moving the glass?

Howdy 3 Sheets,
Yup..I believe in ghosts and spirits too. There's a big difference between the two..ghosts are like recordings and spirits are the actual soul, interacting with the physical world.
My uncle and I,had an experience with an angry spirit one time, when as teenagers,we decided to visit an old country cemetary, out in the boonies. We had just arrived and were going to turn around and position ourselves to be able to leave quickly,in case a deputy dog came along. But before we could,I looked over just in time,to see the steering wheel ripped out of my uncle's hands and it rapidly spun and steered us right towards a tree..my uncle freaked out and let go of the steering wheel at first,as we watched it spin to the right, towards the tree..but then he grabbed the wheel at the last second and swerved just in time. Needless to say-we got the heck out of there..and never came back at night !
Never did a seance, but I've messed around witha ouija board a time or 2..nothing definitive came of that, but it's a well understood fact, that foul energies are drawn to ouija boards and it's best not to mess with them.
Have a good one !

A house I used to live in as a nipper was apparently haunted. My grandpa, who lived there before us, said the ghost of a young girl who used to be the maid of the house was still there and she used to rearrange towels and clothes in the wardrobes. Weird  .
I dunno though, you can't help but laugh at those paranuts on TV that sit around a table holding hands saying "give us a sign" over and over. :D Cilly sunts.

I was thinking about this, as i saw a program about some haunted house (just regular house, not like a manor or anything) called "war at the door" it was a pretty shitty program actually, but nevermind..

Yes i do and i for one have seen a ghost.
7 Years ago my football went into my neighbours garden which is abandoned i jumped the fence and looked thru the window bein nosey i saw a women on a Rocking Chair wearing old old clothes rocking back and forward sewing.
2 Years later new neighbours move in.
Another year later i go on holiday with my family and neighbours and whilst on holiday my neighbour tells me how when they 1st moved in she told her husband to throw the rockign chair that was there awaywhen she went downstairs she saw a old lady in the chair rocking sewing.
She even described her to the same detail as i did.
they chucked the chair and she was never seen since.
that was compeltly crazy

Wow, That is interesting, I've never heard of that before.
Anyway, I have never seen a ghost (or spirit) and don't really believe. Once a freind of mine and I got into an argument over hauntings and the existance of ghosts so she took me to this really old graveyard in the woods to prove that ghosts existed. She said that you could feel the presence and every time she's been down there wierd things have happened. Well the only weird thing that happened was her getting super wigged out about being there and the only thing I felt was indegestion from the taco bell we had earlier. Nothing was proven and I still don't believe in ghosts.

Wow, Robert, that's some crazy ass shit:D, if that happened to me i wouldn't go back, or just get super drunk with mates and go ghost hunting (more like breaking and entering) and trash some shit, then probably run home and smoke some ganja:)

Oh man I totally believe in ghosts, when I was little I could have swore I saw a transparent person walking on the upstairs deck (there were big mostly-glass doors from my room to the deck) but my parents told me it was just a dream. I know a damn dream when I see it, thank you very much!
Funny this thread comes up now, cause this kid I know has a pretty freaky house (kid drowned in his creek, he hears footsteps when home alone, dog wigs out etc) and we're planning on ghost hunting sometime this summer... using shrooms to "contact" them, of course. ;)

No, I don't. I think the human "soul" is nothing more than the brain, and when you die and your brain decomposes there's nothing left of your "soul". I hope I'm wrong though. I would have a lot of fun as a ghost, messing with people's minds, hanging around women's locker rooms and the like.

Yeah if i was a ghost, i know i'd go round throwing shit at people i didn't like in their own houses (poltergeist sp? lol) but yeh having more than just this life would be great, like i really hope there's heaven or something (should start a new thread for this, but bollocks to it) because that would be so cool, and i'd finally get to meet all of you (great reason to die, to meet my stoner buddies from around the world)

No, I don't believe in ghosts or anything like that. I've never seen any good evidence of their existence, nor have I seen any good explanation for what they are and what they are made of that works within the accepted framework of current physical models. If we can perceive them and photograph them, they have to be made of something which can either reflect or create light - photons. Photons are electromagnetic radiation, and as such, only electric or magnetic forces can create and interact with them. So, are ghosts electromagnetic phenomena? Doubtful. We should have easily detected them by now. We have extremely sensitive equipment for detecting the entire range of electromagnetic phenomena, and nothing credible has been noted as a result of such measurements. I just don't see a valid physical mechanism which would allow them to be as claimed. In order to exist and be observed, they would have to part of the natural world and exist within the structure of the overarching physics which shapes everything in the universe. As such, there ought to be a lot more evidence for them; but there isn't. Wake me up when someone has some evidence.

My logical side says no but an experience I had when I was 9 or 10 makes me think that maybe they do exists.. When I was a little kid there was a "haunted house" near where I lived. Actually all that was left was just the foundation and fireplace tucked into the woods that had been long overgrown. I don't know if it was true but the story was that some crazy old man had lived there and one night was getting drunk and threw a nearly full bottle into the fireplace resulting in the whole place burning down, killing himself in the process. Folks said he haunted the place.
Every now and then we'd go to check it out and one time as we were walking up the pathway through the woods to the place me and my friend both saw something. Kind of like smoke or fog roughly in the shape of a person that didn't seem to disapate. We didn't stick around to see what it was and both hauled ass out of there and never went back.
For years I swore we had seen a ghost. Who knows, maybe there was some tokers nearbye who had just blown out a big bong hit and we just thought it was a ghost. Whatever it was we did see something. I'm a bit more skeptical now but I sure as shit aint going to say it's not possible that it was a ghost.

yes i believe in ghosts, ive seen one before im sure of it, when i was 13 i was in this old diner that was used as a secret meeting place for the continental generals in the revolutionary war, i could like feel somones presence, i knew somone was there, then i felt this chill go through my body and such an intense pain i almost fell to my knees, and then i saw a very dull figure, almost like a hologram, it was transparent, but still solid, he was is knee high nickers, black leather boots, a white shirt with little white frillies aand a blue overcoat with all kinda of metals or something on it, he began to scream, i could tell he was screaming, his mouth was wide open, his veins were popping out, but there was no sound, i could not hear a word he said, and for all of you who think this si bullshit i had to go to therapy for about a year and a half to get over it

Woah koshea, that sounds a bit.. strange, it sounds sooo vivid, and that you could see everything he was wearing and what he was doing, but glad you over it (hopefully)

Never seen or heard one, but noone's ever disproved their existance. There's alot of stuff that humans still don't understand, so I keep an open mind. Ghosts, spirits, god, satan, space aliens, parallel universes, ..... I believe in the possibility of their existance, unless someone can disprove it.

I have never seen one myself but I do believe that ghosts and spirits exist. Both my parents have seen ghosts and their stories are spooky.

There is an old Massacre site about 20 miles from where I live. 26 Scotch-Irish settlers were killed by Cherokee Indians in 1760 on Long Cane Creek as they tried to flee. If you visit the site today, there is a marker at the mass grave etched in stone, made the year of the massacre.
My first visit there was on a hot July day when the temperature was in the 90's.
I was shocked to find the grave stone marker cold to the touch, even in the direct sunlight.
Maybe that doesnt mean there are spirits there. Maybe Im just an idiot. But there is a strange energy when you drive to this very wooded, remote area that hasnt changed much in the almost 250 years since the event. It intensifies when you cross the little foot bridge leading to the mass grave.
BTW, I went back there high one day later (alone) and completely freaked myself out and had to leave!

I've felt the presence of a ghost, and spirits. I believe in ghosts and spirits as well. I've had way too many experiences with them as well, but I find it to be normal at least for me.

yeah im over it, i dont think he was yelling cuz he was mad it looked more like a scared yell, or a warning, i think that the britts accually stormed the house and captured like a bunch of generals or something in there....so my therapist made em think that the spirit i saw was accually nice, it was warning me to leave becuase its trapped in time but his warning is irrelavent to us, so yeah, it was a nice ghost i think
i dont think u can do watever u wanted u want if u actually became a ghost..otherwise this world would be in such a big mess ;;..just my opinion lol

I dont believe in ghosts, but I can see why so many people believe in them-itrs kind of like the same joy people derive from watching scary movies.

My nephews and sister-in-law are scared of ghosts and spirits. I have lots of fun scaring them out of their minds. Hahahahahaha, I'd love being a spirit. It would be possible for a spirit to interact with the living, at least from what I've experienced.

The first time I smoked weed we were driving by a graveyard and out of the corner of my eye I saw a white figure running along the footpath and then asked in these words to a friend sitting on the same side of the car as me in these words "Did you see that?" and he was able to explain in a very surprised tone that he had seen what I had.
I have no real beliefs regarding this as there is no way of proving or disproving this theory and although science and todays knowledge disagrees with the whole idea of spirits I believe that there are still things that are undiscovered throughout our planet (and universe for that matter).
