Yes and no. That same philosophy could be directed at any type of movement, political social, etc. Take first things first and allow people who truly need it for mental or physical reasons. One step at a time. As Bill Murray said in What about Bob. Baby Steps. Babeee Steps.

i think the only way it will become legal is when they start punishing us so much that we actually start givin a fuck, but at the state were at now with marijuana laws its just enough to be a big nuisance but still not that bad that us lazy stoners want to do anything

Alaska is too cold IMO. But I agree with phresher, if it were legal then everyone would grow. It's way too easy to grow, you have to be a black-thumbed moron to fail completely at growing weed. Besides, if they grew it commercially, they'd probably put pesticides and other nasty shit on it that would make it just as bad as their legal, deadly tobacco.
