Well I was on 512k DSL but thats only 272k upstream and i could only D/L shit at like 50k/s max so this is insane, its 1.5 mbps downstream

I just got it too and it sucks i prefer cable internet any day as its instant i find that this high speed dsl is no good after being used to cable but it does kick ass over dial up which i had about 5 or 6 yrs ago.I wish i was still in metro area cable is the best.Whats the go with all these filter things that have to go into every phone line i dont like that.Anyways im glad your happy with it.

ehhh my friend has cable and its good for one used but when we're both hooked up to it it slows WAY down. With DSL he came over and we hooked 4 computers up to just my 512k connection and it was still just as fast.

daZenfmeister, welcome to the world of fast getting things! if I can make a suggestion? you mentioned kazaa, and simpsons episodes. Do yourself a favor and look into 'torrent' technology. Its the same sort of idea as kazaa, except a few major differences...like no misnamed files, no virus worries, EXTREMELY high speeds with well seeded torrents (I have 3 mbps DSL, and with enough peers I get a solid 350K downstream)

For a client I recommend Bittornado or Azureus. And check out demonoid.com, its member-based (registration is free) so it tracks your up/down ratio...and leechers are banned, so everybody shares

yeah forget about kazaa, torrents are good. Also try ircspy.com (great for movies) you just need to download an irc client, like mirc from www.mirc.com, then search for what you want on ircspy, when you find it click download and press ctrl + v (pastes request for download) then hit enter.
The download will start up automatically in your client. Download rates are usually pretty fast, and ive never had any viruses or fake files.

hmm i hope i didnt make that sound too complicated, anyway there are some good guides on the site, its easy as piss once you know how to do it, and well worth it.

IRC is a great place for files, but its got a learning curve that still scares me...and I'm an IT tech

but if you can figure it out and make it work, go for it. One of the better places to get things, definitely on the same level as the torrent networks...but a damn sight better than Kazaa still.

ircspy have made their site pretty idiot proof to use (i use it so there ya go), once you have your client configured properly its as easy as anything else , but just as good.
