I found out about Ether from Fear And Loathing In Las Vegas. I want to try it but I have a few questions first....

1. Where does it come from and where can I get it? (Any kind of chemicals to watch out for or something?).

2. How much does it take to overdose and is it deadly with the dosages to get the feeling?

3. What's it really like?

4. Would you think it'd show up on a piss test?

Stay away from it. It's highly volatile and extremely flammable, the vapors are explosive when contained and it's relatively dangerous to inhale - its use as a general anaesthetic for surgery was stopped around the turn of the previous century. If you absolutely MUST try it, please use only laboratory or medical grade ether. The sort used in engine starting fluid may contain dangerous levels of impurities, including potentially carcinogenic petroleum distillates.

No, petroleum ether is naptha, starter fluid is diethyl (true) ether. Plus some oils as a minor component. Naptha is also sometimes called mineral spirits.

I've tried ether. I found starter fluid in my garage. I took a ziplock bag, squirted all of it into the ziplock bag, put water in the ziplock bag...then one of the layers is pretty much pure ether...the other layer is the other minor chemicals and the water. so you let the top or bottom drain out? can't rmemeber which one is the ether.....check erowid for ether experiences..and one guy tells you how to do it. anyways, if you filter it out and drain the right layer off you willbe left with "pure" ether.....and you can put a big on a rag and sniff it......it dissolves quickly if exposed to air so store the ether in something with a top on it so no air can get in. so put some on a rag, you dont need alot....then you sniff it..........and i guess take one deep sniff and SIT DOWN somewhere and see how you feel. ALSO IT"S VERY SMELLY SO EVERYONE IN THE HOUSE WILL SMELL IT PLUS IT WILL EXPLODE IF YOUR NOT IN A VENTILATED AREA!!!!! THIS STUFF IS NOT VERY PLEASANT IN MY EXPERIENCE. IT JUST MAKES YOU FEEL LIKE YOU CAN"T MOVE AND MAKES YOU ALL PAINLESS AND STUFF BUT IT"S NOT A GOOD FEELING CUZ YOU CANT REALLY CONTROL IT. THE GOOD THING IS IT GOES AWAY WITHIN 10-20 minutes....SO BE CAREFUL!!!

i dunno bout 20 or 30 mintues.Maybe like 5 mins,tops.....I personally enjoy the buzz...very giggly,weird,strange,giddyness.It is funny to do it with friends and just laugh.I don't do it anymore for various reason,but have had experince with it.

I seen a little girl one day wearing bunny ears in the trailer park,and i said to a friend walking with me "look its the ether bunny",(ya know instead of the easter bunny???)Well needless say we were laughing hysterically,and went back to my shack and geeked out in there for awhile.

my ether experience started with my science fair project when me and a pal found the whole process for diethyl ether on the web so we decided to do that without giving a damn what the school would say or caring about the difficulty to get the supplies for the whole synthesis. We never made the project due to the lack of good chemistry labs in my goddamn school, so i went out and bought diethyl ether from a pharmacy with a prescription i got from my doctor but w/e.
the ether high was insane i couldnt stop laughing my ass off followed by a wave of numbness in my face and body, we sniffed the whole bottle of 20 ml taking huge ass sniffs each time if not it wont hit u as hard. the low down of ether is the coming down its horrible, , its even worse than a fucked up hangover from a drinking binge . of course smoking a joint will make u feel better but dont be near the ether its quite flammable and the gases emited from that devil ether pack the punch :)
