a thread in other psychotropics titled "duster" was locked with the mod giving this reason:

The chemical in compressed air is diflouroethane, and it is most definately not physiologically inert. I couldn't care less about this particular thread, but it does concern me that a mod would lock a thread basd on their own ignorance. This thread is properly placed in the right forum, and on topic, while there is a thread about how to make crack in the cannabis recipes forum that remains open. Why?

Wrong. Read the MSDS for difluoroethane (http://msds.ehs.cornell.edu/msds/msdsdod/a179/m89213.htm). There is no mention of direct CNS effects, which would be required to be listed in the MSDS if they were known. It does, however, mention the oxygen displacement effects:

Health Hazards Acute & Chronic: INHALATION OF HIGH CONCENTRATIONS OF VAPOR IS HARMFUL & MAY CAUSE HEART IRREGULATITIES, UNCONSCIOUSNESS, DEATH. INTENTIONAL MISUSE OR DILIBERATE INHALATION MAY CAUSE DEATH W/O WARNING. VAPOR REDUCES OXYGEN AVAILABLE FOR BREATHING & IS HEAVIER THAN AIR. LIQUID CONTACT CAN CAUSE FROSTBITE.

i guess it depends on your definition of "phsiologically inert" and "drug." Just because something doesn't have direct cns effects doesn't mean it is not a drug(at least that was my understanding of the definition), and it doesn't mean it isn't physiologically inert. Anyway, I don't mean to challenge anyone's decision, I just thought it odd that this thread was closed when the crack one is obviously off topic, since the header on the recipes forum specifically says it is for cannabis related recipes.

Well nowhereman,the definetion of psychotropic is :Having an altering effect on perception or behavior.And duster,certainly fits that description,so yes it would be in the proper place. And anyone who huffs duster should be banned for stupidity is your opinion.One opinion in which i can see where your coming from,but nonetheless kids experiement with altered states.

My better judgement tells me that even if a post is made about how to do duster/cook crack/slam heroin,that the person reading it will use their better judgement in deciding whether or not it is a smart idea to do that drug. Basically,just because someone reads a thread about doing duster,doesn't mean there gonna go out there and do it.And the point of these forums are to spread knowledge,and i cant even begin to explain why duster is dangerous and detrimental to your health if the thread is locked before i can even read it.ya know what im saying man?

yeah guys umm i think if youre gonna be a nazi about 1 thing then you should be nazis about all or none. i think i was reading a thread on how to make acid or some shit...yeah thats not dangerous. and im sure that thread beeb posted on ether wasnt a dangerous one either...why wasnt that one close? whats the difference of talking about abusing cough syrup or sniffing shit? nothing really since both can and have caused death. if youre gonna lock threads because shit can kill ya, then maybe you should be looking more at all the frigging DXM threads. just my 2 cents.
