I think this site should really have that thing that most others do, where it shows who's logged in to each forum. otherwise, sometimes I (and others) stay on forever waiting for someone to reply, when nobody's on. just thought I'd share that with the administrators.

There is a much better feature for tracking replies to threads. At the top of each thread is a pulldown menu titled "Thread Tools". Pull this down and click on "Subscribe to this thread". You can then select your notification options.

but we do have that feature...it's on the bottom of the home page. and if there's a particular member you're looking for, go to their profile page and look on right side near the top. it lists when last here and where...also whether or not member is currently online.

Or at the toolbar more near the top of the page, to the right it says quick links, click that then go to the bottom of the list that pops up and it says Who's online, click that and tada!

I think he means 'who's viewing this thread,' 'whos viewing this forum,' etc, Not just the big long list on the forum index.

The function is disabled, since it uses additional resources.
On a related note, that function might actually discourage some folks from participating, since they may be fearful of being seen reading a particular thread and/or not responding right away; yes, I realize one can track what one is doing by viewing one's user profile, but that takes effort and is somewhat inaccurate.
In a nutshell, that function is disabled primarily to conserve server resources and to a lesser extent for visitor privacy.
With all that said, it may enabled sometime in the future if enough folks truly desire that feature.
Thank you for the suggestion.

Just to point it out, other forums I've been to have an option in the profile section that says "hide me when I'm online".
but if it uses too many resources, I'm sure we'll live :) .

i would like to see the above mentioned suggestion put into play.
i think it would be much more convenient for everyone myself...instead of clicking here, and going there, and what not.
