you can start out with cheap flourescent lights and save up for a hps while vegging. Or you could go the whole grow with flos but your buds wont be just as big

You need another tube for seedlings, minimum 3 tubes, make sure they're no more than 2 inches above the plants. If you're sticking with fluoros for the grow you want at least 5 tubes and mix in a couple of warm white.

being that u live in southafrica i doubt u have a home depot but u can order a 65watt compact flourescent from lightsofamerica.com that puts off over 8,000 lumens and comes with a reflective hood. there very efficient for vegative growth but u will probably want to save up for the hps for flowering. they cost about $40usd

Check out insidesun, just click on insidesun on the cannabis.com home page. They have decent beginner set ups for about $100. I'm just not sure if they deliver to South Africa, you'd have to check it out for yourself. Good luck.

Why don't you grow outside if you live in Africa ? Your plants would be HUGE. Fluos are really not recommended for growing/budding, they are used for cuttings only.. Grow outdoor or buy a HPS system, its the minimum to grow inside.

Africa isn't just wild land like you see on the discovery channel buddy. He's from South Africa, which has a dense population, and a lot of crime. :)

you can go for furoecents but you gonna need allot of them and in the end its gonna be close to an HPS. in SA a 250 W hps costs about 1500 rand so im sure u can afford that in america or wer eva u live

I'd be weary of insidesun. I've had a somewhat decent experience with them although they crimped female connectors on both ends of the cord set from the ballast to the socket. I just cut it and crimped on male end on one end. And a bulb came in non working order which they didn't replace. Others I've heard of, especially laterly have had some bigger problems with not receiving stuff. My stuff was bought a couple years back, I do wish in hindsight that I had saved for better quality.
