Hortis Vs HPS and MH.

When I first started growing it seemed all I heard about is how Hortis "bulbs" were the best.

I do not see much talk about Hortis anymore. I also see people using HPS for veg and MH for flower.

Wouldn't it be cheaper or around the same price to just get a Horti?

Why spend money on a 250HPS and a 400MH when a Horti does it all from what I hear? Did I make a mistake getting the Horti?

Can someone educate me please?

i dont have any info on the whole horti blubs but just a correction most ppl like to veg with mh ,,,,and flower with hps not the other way around ;) .....i myself dont have an hps to flower so i vegg on floros and switch to mh at flower PEACE

Mh to flower is wrong. I have tried it myself (even though I knew better) and MH did flower the bud but it was not the same color or as potent as the same strain of plant under HPS. The trichomes were smaller under MH for flower VS the same strain flowered under HPS.

Now I have one room that has only HPS (2)hortalux (2)standard HPS just to mix up the color. The plants are growing great, no color shift in the leaf, no problems with stretch, no problems with growth being stunted. We will see but I don't expect the flower cycle to be any different.

IF this holds up like I think it will, I have (4) 1000w and (4)400w Mh transformers for sale......lol
