No, it hasn't had any negative effects on me at all. *coughs vigorously*
Seriously, no negative effects here.

it will only effect you negatively if you let it -.-
dont let it drag you into bullshit just blaze and chill: repeat many times over
The only real negative effect from smoking weed has been not being able to find a decent paying job until I go off to college. So many places around here drugtest, well, the ones that pay well do. Actually, I think weed has been very positive in my life. I'm glad I made that decision to take the first puff.

no, not yet. but then i am 41. does that count?
never had a "good job" never been married, no kids also. my choice!
I think it's had a positive effect. The kid I was, at 17, was headed down a wrong path for sure. After I started smoking I started getting a bit introspective, appreciated things like music more, related better to the people around me, started to work harder on my life in a more positive way. Maybe coincidence, I don't think so.

Yes
I had a girlfriend who did not want someone on drugs, "Marijuana"
I did not do it much at that time so maybe once or twice I did it behind her back.
If you want to smoke pot, find someone who does as well or does not care if you do it. If you get married and hise it from them, not a good idea.
Finding a job might be harder but can be done. Start your own company :)

Weed can greatly reduce the stress level in your life.
For example, I dont get road rage anymore :)

It can ruin your life if you let it. It's not supposed to be your life, rather it is supposed to enhance your life, and thats important to remember. The only negative effects it has had on me is the fact my family doesn't like it and fight with me all the time, but I think once they understand me a little more that might change.

I see it like TV and video games. Anybody can flunk out of school if they sit there watching TV and playing video games all day long, same as somebody who sits there smoking pot all day long. That doesn't mean TV and video games will ruin your life, just that some peoples' lives are waiting to go to shit anyway.

Exactly. And the potential consequences the original poster is referring to are results of the drug war and the perceptions of pot people hold, not the drug itself. So a better a question would be, has George Bush ruined your life?

Of course it hasn't ruined my life. I can do pretty much anything stoned as well as I can do it sober, and it seems so long as certain people (the government, potential employers, etc.) don't know about my habit it won't cause me any negative effects. In fact, I would say it has made my life significantly better. It makes me happy, and to me that is the definition of success.

do you think it is possible to be a serious athlete, get good marks in school and be a musician as well as smoke pot regularly?

I have graduated with a bachelor of science, B+ Average. I wouldn't say I'm a genius or anything but it shocks people when they find out that I smoke pot because I'm not the "dumb stoner" they would expect. I am definetly not an athlete (unless joint rolling is a sport, haha) but one of the best soccer players I know smokes the happy herb. Shoot, half the skaters I know, many of them very talented, smoke pot and I would consider them athletes. I think anything is possible no matter if you smoke pot or not.

Last years starting running back for the Vikings (Smith?) was just recently arrested for pot, dried urine, etc :) And dont forget Ricky Williams!
Karl Malone, who just retired from the NBA, estimated that 75% of all NBA players smoke the weed

As for getting good marks in school, it can definitely be done. I and this other girl I've smoked with before recently won awards for being among the top 50 students in our sophomore class at university.
And as for smoking and being a good musician, well, just take a look at the history of music over the past few decades. Think of Bob Marley and the Grateful Dead and the Beatles and Jimi Hendrix and Bob Dylan and the Rolling Stones and Phish and Louis Armstrong and Gene Krupa and pretty much every rapper ever.
