View Full Version : How Much Wattage Should I Push?

Growroom Size- 6 Feet High 3 Feet Wide 1 1/2 Feet Deep. Looking whether to put a 250, 400 or 1000watt HPS system in with a 50cfm fan installed without reaching critical heat buildup.

Suggestions?

Of the choices, 400 watt. However, maybe a 400 HPS with a 250 MH (for the UV rays) would do. I like the 600 HPS with 400 MH for my own, slightly larger area and I keep the ballasts out of the grow room to fight heat buildup.

Get the 1000w out of your head for that space

If that was my room, I would probably get away with 6 plants.

400w is all you need.

The total wattage needed for the space described is optimal at 900 watts for maximum lumen coverage and light penetration however using a 400 watt HPS like you have suggested will give me less than average results but result in less heat buildup will it not?

will a 250w hps and a 400w hps do the job for 11 plants and could i put a 70w flor in with them and the temp is kept at 30 what kind of results will i get??????

use as many watts as you can cool off. that way you can optimize your grow. a 1000w would be best , but can you get rid of the heat? that is the ?.r

Use a Kool Tube with a good fan and ducting. You could do well with Mylar on the walls and a 600w HPS w/a growlux bulb. Just put an outdoor probe under the lights and monitor the temperature from the outside of your room. Don't forget about fresh air in and hot air out of your room too. Raised and monitored the humidity it will increase the health and size of your plants.

i use a 400 hps in same area gets alittle hot during day but hasint benn that bad

find a bigger grow room.... 1 1/2 feet deep? for real...

think flourescent for this space...

8 bulb t5 on a light stand.... 40 000 lumens... stayin cool...
