Does anyone else ever just get out of bed thinking this will be the last day. The world will end today. Or looking over the treetops and thinking that any second a huge shockwave from a nuclear explosion or otherwise will come rushing through and annihilating everything.

Nope. I'd rather die suddenly and unknowing than freaked out and paranoid.

It's not being 'freaked out' and 'paranoid'. It's just a random notion i get once in awhile. I don't dwell over it. Just sometimes the idea will pop into my head. I'm not a 'doom and gloom' guy either. it's just The world is getting more depressing each day.

You all must've misunderstood my post.
I'm not worried, paranoid, freaked out, buggin, or depressed about the world ending. I don't swell on the idea that the world will end any second. I dont look at the treetops every second wondering if there will be a shockwave that whipes us out. All i'm asking is if every once and awhile you just think, "hmm, maybe the world will finally end today"

Didn't Nostradomus predict the Apocalypse within like the next 20 years?

I feel if it does come, i'll always be prepared, I stare into the skys a lot looking for any stars getting bigger. When and if it happens, i'll always be ready. It will be a magical moment, everyone dieing simotaniosly.

Nostradomus is as phony as John Edwards and the rest of them. every single disaster that happens, somebody pulls up a line from him and says "SEE! SEE! he knew it would happen!".
I have the same powers. watch this:
A great dictator will rise to power and cause massive war with the death and suffering of millions. Invasions of nations will occure, superpowers will be pushed into the conflict. now whenever that happens I hope everybody can claim how mystical I am.

People have been expecting the end of the world as long as there have been people. The world was here a billion years ago, and it will be here a billion years from now. I'm old enough to remember when fears about nuclear war were alot more real than they are now. But even then the world would have went on, just without us.

I know I havent posted in a long time but I just can't help myself.
1. All psychics and precognitives are frauds, there is a way to predict the future however it does escape our current capabilities (no matter how special you think you or say "nostradamus" or as earlier mentioned john edwards is). You'de have to have subconscious knowledge of every particle (including the ones we havent discovered) as well as all energy forms position at that second THEN you could predict the future. (please look it up).
2. There isnt enough nuclear bombs to wipe out humankind let alone earth itself, we could have 10,000 times more bombs and we would still miss most people in caves or on any far subterranean level. Deal with it, we're an adaptable species and with technology even more adaptable. Please do not fret about our extinction it is inevitable but won't happen for billions if not "trillions" of years, we're simply to aggressive and scarily enough to admit this intelligent (most of us anyway), we will/would adapt as would most life on earth to almost any circumstance.(also nuclear bombs are "flashy" they're not nearly as destructive as some try to make them seem they may be the most destructive physical weapon we have so far(not counting potential threat by spreading of biological toxins weaponized) but thats only because we havent harnessed certain energy forms into weapons).
3. The Earth MAY end when the sun in a few "billion" years swallows the earth (although we'de die off way sooner than that) however I have "faith" in the human species ability to develop either a. move the earth or b. interstellar travel.
Oh and yes Natural I do sometimes think of things like that , but in no way do I think of them as world ending. (although I had a "hitchiker's guide to the galaxy" moment, A few years ago I could have swore I got the creepiest feeling our entire galaxy was about to be wiped out, but it was probably my overactive imagination).

all the time....it could be a nuke...an asteroid...a plane crashing into your house....a black hole appearing right infront of you.....i would say i think about mass destruction most days....it doesnt bother me...its just one of the possibilities....and they are endless.....sorry to bring this thread up again but i only just noticed it

Not quite. Random events on the quantum level have raised serious doubts about that kind of determinism. How much these quantum fluctuations influence macroscopic events is a matter of debate, but in theory not everything is predictable by knowing where all the matter and energy is in the universe at any moment (regardless of the technical impossibility of finding out that much information, especially given the Heisenberg Uncertainty Principle). I agree with you, though, that anyone who claims to know the future is either lying or delusional.

I get that feeling like the shit is about to hit the fan alot and i write about it.
I dont fear the end of the world
I fear the crackdown on freedom. There is certainly a lot more proof for this.
The end of the world won't be by natural cuases man has a great talent for self destruction.
