Ok, this is my situation. I used to smoke when I was younger (13) then I stopped, now I'm (21) and I smoked out 2 sundays ago, smoked some really strong haze. Ok this is my problem, I still feel high after 2 weeks! I don't know what the hell is going on, I got STONED as hell that night, but I have never experienced extended results like this, maybe 1 day but not 2 weeks! That night I got so high I had to focus on how to focus..... I still feel distant, can't focus, I'm normally not very sociable , but now I'm sociable like a talk show host, I'm very hyper, I'm experiencing a fast heart rate that won't go down (114 beats per minute ) . I can't focus, walk like I'm high, can't sit still, my hands shake, got the munchy's 24/7, the whole nine yards...... Bud is only supposed to stay in your system for 1 month, and I'm already half way through and I still feel high as hell..... Anyone ever experience anything like this before, and if so how long did it take before it wore off? Its honestly starting to piss the hell out of me, I can't do anything productive, can't carry on a normal conversation, all I do is ramble on about crap, and skip through 8020893849023 different subjects..... I was sick when I smoked that day, and I still have the sniffles, could that have something to do with it? What you guys and gals think?

I think it's all psychological, cause u said it's been so long since youve been high, that maybe it is fucking with ur head that u actually smoked the reefer again!

I keep hearing about people being sick when they smoke and having super prolonged effects. People push it aside and say its all in your head, but I can't help but wonder if there is indeed some truth to this. However, my advice, is first of all get better. When your cold is gone, smoke another bowl, just don't get SUPER high. Just a nice light buzz. I'm guessing that there is some middle ground between being high for a half a month and it all being in your head. I think if you smoke again, you will realize you weren't high and "oh... this is what it feels like again." Also if your not sick you should come down normally blah blah blah. Your happy I'm happy, smoke weed and have a good life. Just some ideas though. Good luck!

plus, a little more toking may get your tolerance up.

I wonder though, often when somebody loses an arm (or leg, as the case may be), they can still feel the arm, and sometimes even feel pain where the arm used to be. this happenes because the brain thinks it's still there. I'm no psychologist, but I wonder if the brain somehow could have never realized it came out of the high, even though it has

Under this assumption, everyone who falls asleep high will wake up high. I know I'm stone sober the moment I wake up. In fact I've never felt more sober in my entire life than the morning after the first time I smoked.

that's not really what I was getting at. I'm saying when the brain is high, it thinks it's high, then when it comes down, it realizes it's down. perhapse on occasion, it doesn't realize it came down, like 1 in a million chance. and that's just an uneducated theory.

ive been thinking about somthing like that for a while now....

i was thinking maybe when you get stoned you dont actually come down completly....maybe you get used to that feeling of being stoned and you feel normal.
even though you are still stoned.

I just read something in a medical journal that sounds just like your case. Here's what it had to say:

"Researches have recently discovered a condition which they are calling 'Herer's Syndrome' . This condition is extremely rare and is only maifested in users of marijuana and marijuana derivitives such as hashish. Herer's Syndrome is characterized by a permanent feeling of marijuana intoxication long after any traces of THC (the active ingredient in marijuana) have left the body.

This condition tends to manifest itself when a new, or very moderate user, consumes a very large amount of highly potent marijuana. For reasons yet unknown, the cannabanoid receptors in the brain short circuit and become locked on . The result is that the brain of the user is essentially hard wired to be high at all times.

While many users of marijuana would find the idea of a permanent "high" comperable to finding the Holy Grail, persons afflicted by Herer's Sydrome quickly realize that this is not the case. Being in a permanent state of marijuana intoxication soon begins to radically interfere with their normal lives. The prognosis for those afflicted with Herre's sysndrome are not good. There is no cure and most cases, the effects are so disturbing that the patient's mental health gradually deteriorates resulting in insanity......."

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news man. Hopefully this isn't your problem but I'd suggest going to the docs as soon as possible

It's permanant!!

Actually I made that all up. Sorry folks, me and a buddy had gotten really baked the other day and were talking about "what if you got high and never came down". When I read this thread I couln't resist.

Seriously though Lost, do you have allergies? I have them really bad and every year about this time some plant comes into bloom and it hits me hard. I get the standard hay fever shit, stuffy nose, itchy eyes, etc but for some reason I also get really spaced out feeling too. Not super high but kinda like that feeling when you're coming down and aren't all together there. Allergies would also account for the stuffy nose you still have. If its allergies the good news is that whenever whatever it is that triggered them is gone the feeling will wear off too. The bad news is that it will probably come around next year.

LOL! come on, I'm not that wacked out to have believed that........ lol, but damn that would be freakin crazy if it were true, anyways as for an update on my 'condition'

I now have the mourning after feeling, spaced out, a little memory loss, a little lack of concentration, but damn at this rate, by the time I get completely sober ALL the THC would have left my system, I'm thinking about writing a book about it....lol

I'm a musician that can't stay on beat when I'm high AT ALL, which is why I'm backed up with a lot of work, since I need to finish up songs and so forth, but as of I think yesterday I can now stay on beat, wooooooo hoooooooo, I'll be 100% back to work in no time, hopefully :o)

Glad your feeling better Lost. Now it sounds even more like allergies to me. I was actually serious about that by the way. Whatever weed, tree, flower, etc that was blooming has probably stopped and the symptoms are tapering off. Where do you live? I'm in the San Francisco Bay Area and this is just about when the olive trees bloom. It last about three weeks or so and for those three weeks life is hell for me. Go get an allergy test. If you've got them you can get shots or pills to help. If you don't than at least you'll know and can start looking into Herer's Syndrome ;)

I live in New Jersey, I actually do have allergies, they were real bad when I was younger, but kind of just faded away ( unless I'm near a cat or dog ) over the years, its hot as HELL here now, with high humidity and NO WIND what so ever, its a freakin bakers oven over here.... which really isn't helping my feeling at all, lol...

I tried a lot of different herbal medicines ( just nothing I gotta smoke ) to maybe balance out my pH system and hormonal levels, and I found that my Aloe Vera pills do wonders, so I pop like 4 in the mourning and 4 in the evening, it kind of eases the hyper feeling and increases my awareness significantly, which is amazing since I used to take it before what happened and found no effect whatsoever, only after what happened I can now feel the wonders Aloe does..... They say that Aloe is like a miracle drug that seeks out impurities and illnesses in your system and fixes it ( how it does it, beats me... )

so yeah, thanks for the help peoples, its much appreciated!

Eeeeesh, my friend was in an almost identical situation for awhile. He accidentally smoked some dusted weed and was in that same state for more than three days. It went away eventually, but it was bad in the meantime. Even if your friends assure you it wasn't laced, they can never be absolutely sure unless they grew it themselves. Shit does happen, man.

Ride it out, that's all I can tell you. And yes, "blowin a bone" is common here on the east coast. :p
