j's: blunt or joint?

i've recently been hearing more and more people say j, but are talking about blunts. like, "hey, wanna smoke a j?" and then they pull a blunt out. to me, j has always meant joint, but what do you call a j?

hhmmm i love flavored blunts. but i mostly smoke joints because im only 17 i cant buy blunts yet. so i just use my pipe or papers cause papers last long.

what the hell is this showing about our subculture when we're to lazy to say a whole damn word now? i mean that's like the whole ADD "subculture" (dunno what else to call it, but i know that ain't right) having to always substitute the word for letters...these people often also abbrevieate anything else......man just the whole world in general is starting to get lazy IMO (yea i know i did it too but i'm part of the world right? lol)
