Okay, so I have this bong. Its around a 2 footer, straight shaft which becomes spherical at the bottom chamber, quintissential bong shape. Its got a slider style bowl which comes out, and the slider goes into a hole in the side of the chamber and through a hollow glass tube on the inside of the chamber which runs down into the water.

Very recently, i don't know how, but that hollow tube which the slider would go into broke off, so now the slider just slides through the hole right into the chamber. I've tried using it and it works, except now when you pull the slider out the water doesn't bubble at all, you have to work a little harder to get the perfect hitting angle, and its a little messier.

But I was wondering, is there anything else that that hollow tube did besides let it bubble, help avoid mess and make sure the slider would go in at the right angle? And if that piece did do something else important, is there anyway to either fix it myself or get it fixed? thanks.

That slider went into the water to help bubble with less water in the bong. That way you wouldn't have water bubbling up to your mouth. It was just like an extention of the bowl. Reall without your slider it's like having a carb in the side of the bong. Nothing to worry about. It's really no different what so ever. I am sure you can replace it though 7 bucks i would think. If that helps i am glad!

i had soemthing like that happen to me once...you can always go buy a new slide at a head shop but until that time you can cut the side of a two liter out and make a tube that just barely fits into the hole...put a couple of layers of electrical tape and there you go....your bong bubbles without problem anymore.....
