I'd much rather have the military recruit in churches instead of in poor, inner-city areas as they normally do. Let the neo-cons and religious right actually fight the battles they start. It'll be a nice change of pace.

Howdy Blue Cat,

What do you think ? I think that it's wrong to put the flag in front of the Cross,it would be best,to have it below the Cross,so that allegiance to God,is first and foremost.

There are many Christian Americans, that already believe that we are in a holy war with Islam, not just a war on terrorists..to that end, many congregations have expressed their support for Israel. After all,the entire arab-muslim world, would love nothing better, than to destroy Israel and drive every Jew,into the sea..they advocate genocide on a massive scale..yet I doubt if we will ever hear you say, that it's wrong.

What say you ?

Have a good one...

I think by getting the Church involved in this war..it only makes the argument that this is a religious war a more viable one......which is dangerous.

I think churches could support the soldiers in a way a lot less antagonistic. It seems very oxymoronic to bring weapons into a church. The phase what would Jesus do does come to mind. As I have read his teachings I can't picture him with an AK47 strapped across his shoulder yelling bring it on!
As for the flag being over the cross...I think people are starting to worship the flag more or equal too their cross.....kinda like a false god...
Whatever happened to the 10 commandments I guess those don't count in a time of war...

I believe the curch shouldn't be involved. PERIOD. Do you guys realise what youre saying? Church's have NO right to rally people to fight in war unless absolutely necessary. Sixth commandment, Thou shalt not kill. Soldiers get recruited. Some shoot m-16's some fly planes that drop bombs and some shoot missles from tanks. Almost all of these options include civilian casualties at one point or another, intentional or not. People get signed up to (unintentionally) kill people that have never even thought about hurting the united states.
Another reason is the control factor. One of the reasons i became an antitheist was because I hated how the churches control people. Especially the churches in the u.s. of a. The preachers tell you that you're this and you're that. That you're weak. Then they come in and offer one way out and that's by submitting to God and doing whatever they tell you. Whether anyone believes it or not, they act in the same manner that the government (the one we're protesting against now) is doing.

"You smoke weed? fuck you, God hates people who smoke weed." Even though cannabis is glorified in the bible several times in the same mainstream teachings we learn about in sunday school.

People listen to them and since they spread "good faith" they believe them and blindly follow. I dont believe God wants this. They sit on their fucking pulpits all high and mighty. They tell you to that our society is crumbling and insist we pray for all our sins. Then they ask you for a collection and you reach down and feed em because if you don't God won't like it. Nobody bothers to ask why we see the minister driving around in a mercedes and poor people still need food to eat. They make us feel like shit and rob us of our money that goes nowhere near doing "God's work". Now we want to let them recruit our brothers and sisters and our sons and daughters to fight in a war rife with greed, corruption and the breaking of a whole slew of international laws? We actually would ALLOW ministers to manipulate a person's belief and let them believe that God thinks what's going on in Iraq is alright? There is NO CONSPIRACY here. I really mean that with no sarcasm. It's a simple logical chain.

Step 1: Have a President that believes in Christianity. (supposedly this means Bush because he opposes gay marriage and prays in front of a camera once in a while).

Step 2: Have him lobby for integration of church and state to intrigue the clergy.

Step 3: The clergy then rallies for his support and condemns the "EVIL" democrat who supports the rights of gays to marry but who also realised that moving into Iraq was a mistake and wanted to pull the troops out as soon as possible saving many lives.

Step 4: Let the church propaganda increase and lead the lambs to slaughter. Not only will the parishoners garnish them with their hard-earned money as thanks for leading their children on the "holy" path of "righteousness" the cozy relationship between government and church grows. The government provides the media outlet and funding to recruit and the church rallies the sheep.

Step 5: Take over the world using peace and love as a front for invasion and senseless murders of thousands. I love fucking up other people's lives that definitely don't deserve it.

Don't let wolves in sheep's clothing manipulate you. Don't go to hell just because you allowed someone else to tell you whats right.

I am a firm believer of a separate church and state....the radical religious right groups are co-opting the word "America" to make their narrow-minded, discriminatory, intolerant agenda seem to be "American". Their message is clear if you do not support the Church, you are "unAmerican"....

george bush is NOT a christian, and he's not a conservative...

he may have a photo op here and there where he's praying or coming out of a church...and he may say god once in a while...but he's not a christian...

he's conned good christian conservatives into believing he is. he has good PR.

and it's funny...because there's a growing movement of real christian conservatives who are against lord bush. you never really hear about them, and they're the real enemy to the global elite.

Hey Torog,

Take a look at the third picture down from the flier picture.

What you see there is men dressed in military uniforms standing in a church with a huge American flag behind them.

Look a bit closer to the top right corner of the picture and what you see is a drop screen from the ceiling with a giant picture of Jesus on the cross.

If this isnt mixing church and state nothing does.

And As you dont seem to have a problem with anything the American Taliban has to say, well....... I'm sort of speechless at this point.

Peace.
