Custom Avatar?

How can I go about making my own custom avatar. What are the limits? (Frames, pixel size, etc?) What is the file format? I have Paint Shop Pro and Corel Draw? Would either of these be useful?

I think you need photo shop to do them.And i think for this board it has to be 65 x 65

Avatars may be up to 100x100 in size, 25KB File Limit, .GIF, .JPG, and .PNG Formats.

Even the animated ones are only 25kb? How are they animated? So say you make your own 6 frames for the animation, can each be 25k? How do you package the animation in one file?

There are plenty of free GIF animators (http://download.com.com/3120-20-0.html?qt=animate+gif&tg=dl-2001) you can use to do that, and I think the maximum file size applies to the entire image file you upload.
