Hello to all. I am very new to all this growing business and wandered if i could pick your brains? One of my crop has started going brown at the leaf tips and apears to be dying. do i need to get rid of it before it spreads to the others or is it worth saving? if so how? any help would be greatly apreciated.

Looks like a Phosphorus (P) deficiency during vegatative growth. Many people mistaken this for a fungu. Damage is near the end of leave, and leaves the color dull greyish with a very brittle texture.

ok here it is. as you said the leaves are becoming very brittle. the ends just crumble when touched. if it is a lack of phosphorus what should i do? Thanks for your help, i would be gutted to see my crop fail, its only small anyhow so i would obviously rather not lose any if at all pos. :)

First you should flush with a commercial flushing product using 3 times the volume.

Next question. There are a lot of times when the light will dry out the inside of the leaf. If the temperature if the leaf is to high like over 90 degrees f then the moisture will evaporate as well and dry out the leaf and cause an upturned end and browning too. GK is mostly correct but you should consider temperature too before you take the next step. Flushing is always a good first thing to do at the beginning signs of trouble. It will save you a lot of trouble in the long run. You are growing in dirt so after you flush you need to let the soil dry out before you add back any nutrients.
