Hey everybody. I just applied for a summer job at my local Stop & Shop supermarket and the application said a drug test may be a condition of employment, and I'm a pretty regular smoker. Now I have friends who read the same thing on the applications for their various jobs, yet never got tested. I was wondering if anybody else has information about Stop & Shop's (or the supermarket business in general) drug test policy because I want to know if I should be worried or not. Thanks!

Yeah dude, almost all jobs are supposedly "drug-free workplaces" and will have things like that in them. Most of the time for entry level jobs (except Wal-Mart) you don't have to worry about it. It's just there to say "Hey bitch, don't fuck up because we'll rule your ass"

Most places will ask you if you're willing to take a drug test as a condition of employment, if you answer "No" it is a good indication that you're a drug user, it does not necessarily mean they will drug test you though and as far as I know Stop and Shop does not.
