I know, it's horrible. There were even talks of the death penalty which I think is just appalling. I feel so bad for that girl. 20 years in prison. Even if it was hers 20 years for posession of a herb which does more good than bad. These people are sick.
will she get put in a bali prison or an australian one?
20 years in a bali prison does not sound like fun.

I'm really happy Corby isn't facing the death penalty. It sucks she has to do time, but it's good enough. I'm kind of happy about the situation.

she may be able to get a prisoner exchange at some stage. She is apealing & the prosecution are apealing as well they dont think 20 years is enuf.she could still get the death penalty...........
fuck you bring 4kilos anywhere and u accept what u get, if you take the risk then you should also be able to face the consequences.
she'll be out in 10, still got a whole life to lead, learn from mistakes
although of course i dont agree with it, but ya know, what can you do

although of course i dont agree with it, but ya know, what can you doI agree. She got busted in a foreign country, where the laws regarding smuggling are much harsher.
I doubt any of you complaining live there, so you don't know what it's like. You have to respect the laws across the globe. When she set foot on their land, it became their jurisdiction, their laws, and their penalties.
Don't get me wrong. I'm not saying it's fair... but you sleep in the bed you make.. know what I mean?

She still swears the ganja was planted in her bag and boogie board. If she did bring the stuff into Bali, that was pretty stupid, considering the Bali government makes it very clear on big huge signs posted all over, that getting caught with drugs in punishable by death. I would think if she was trying to make some fast $ by selling drugs in another country, Bali would've been one of the LAST places to try it in.
I can't imagine spending 20 hours in a prison in Bali, let alone 20 years. And their death penalty (not that dying is ever cool) is being shot by a firing squad. Wow. What a way to go, shot to death hundreds of times for herb.

the problem is that it is almost 100% chance that she is the victom af drug smugling by baggage handlers in australia. It makes alot of sens to me that the pot was meant to go from Brisbane to sydney.More than 25 bagage handlers for Qantas have been stood down, under suspition. To make money in bali seling the pot she would have to sell the 4kg in 1gram lots, thats a lot of seeling for a foriener to do.Much easier to sell in Australia, prob make more money to.The only people to buy it in bali is expat austalians,
U think 10 or 20 years is not much sound like she will have to do the full term,if she dosnt get more on appeal.
She is 27 years old,47 when she gets out. These should be best part of yopur life, most people r falling in love having children,living.........
Also this isnt the first time this has happend.A couple from sydney whent to bali in about 1997 .When they got to there hotel room they found 1ounce of pot in there bag. They contacted the aus embasy wich told them to throw away.
This is a very ruff penalty for not puting a lock on your bag......

either that, or maybe she was bringing good stuff over for her sister? I doubt its easy to find in bali. who knows. If she did it, she deserves it. If you do a crime, you best be prepared to accept the punishment.

Yocass Has a Point..
It was 8.8lbs of Hydroponicly grown hooter..
The Balines call it Space weed Bexause its alot different to the Bush weed they grow there..
But I still think she's innocent..
the Australian goverment are arranging a criminal exchange so she will be able to serve her time here in her own country...
If they do succeed in brining her home I verry much doubt she see the inside of a cell here.....

McCauley Caulkin was watching this news program about this whole thing, and they said that in the past ppl have planted drugs in ppls luggage, its a possibility the weed wasnt hers.
This is like that movie "brokedown palace"(anyone seen it?) almost exactly like it actually, if the prisons in bali are anything like those portrayed in the movie, McCauley Caulkin feels bad for the girl, cuz they are fockered up.

Australian Jails are Full to the Brim.....
The Police Have Basicly Made Canabis busts a Revenue raiser...
I was shopping this morning and bumped into a freind who's freind Just got Busted recently for 260 odd Pound of home grown up A bit further North than me..
I asked How Long he Got and He didnt do a Days Jail..
he got done with 260 odd pound and basicly walked..
Payed a Huge Fine But walked..
I implied that He Must of give somone up to get off that easy...
But He's Not the Type of person to do that.
And did Cop a suspended sentence.(so he has to Really Behave).
The Jails are too full of Voilent repeat offenders and Marijuana dosent seem to be much of an issue in the courts here..
the cops wont admit it But its true.
here if your gonna grow 1 plant then you might as well grow 99 because its the same charge...
I understand that If Shapel is Brought back through the criminal exchange program
then she'd Have to do some time.
I just hope the Queens council that was sent to her are able to Help her More...
