ok well one of my friends is breeding his pitbulls, she is gonna have the babies in a month. he said he wont give me a bad price but my parents are kinda worried about it. My dad said that pitbulls are crazy and they can snap on people real quick, ive heard this too but i was wondering is there a way to avoid having a crazy pit? Ive heard if you just raise it as a calm dog it would be ok but my dad told me otherwise cause "they got something in there blood". Im trying to find out more, they can be friendly right? And when its a baby and teething wat should i do so it doesnt chew up furniture and shit?

my ex neighbor had a pitbull, and I went to the hospital and had some surgery done on my leg, and when I got out, I went to my neighbors house to smoke a bowl with him, but his pit bull answered the door and fucking latched onto my leg, my neighbor had to beat that fucking dog off with a baseball bat, and I had to go straight back to the hospital for 13 fucking stitches, good luck with your new dog.

my belief is that it is not the dog,it is the owner.Pit bulls are just more suited then other dogs for attack dogs. There was a post on this a while back.Pete from Little rascals was a pit bull, and i don't think alphalpha ever got bit

pitbulls can be great dogs, but they are often bought to be a deterent so they are mean. raise it as a nice dog and it will be fine. I would also recomend doing some pitbull training research first as it must be very well behaved

how u raise it matter the most, but all pitbulls will be protective of their home and owners.

my friend has a 6 week old pit, and its gonna be mean as fuck when its older for sure lol

If your dad is gonna cover the cost to get a bull dog than get the bull dog. Itâ??s true with most dogs if you raise them right they will be fine. But where most of the problem comes in is with the breeding (especially if there real cheep, thereâ??s a reason for that.) Pit bulls are skitso because of poor breeding or poor training. To get a decent pit bull your going to have to shell out some cashâ?¦.just go with the bull dog from a reputable kennel.

We rescued a pitbull from a shelter...don't know what we were thinking. He seemed shy and quiet and didn't even bark when all the other dogs were going nuts. That was one clever fucking dog. We brought him back to our shore house and he seemed fine until my wife's dad showed up and snuck up behind us at the picnic table. Our brand new dog bit him right on the head of his dick. He let go right away and seemed to feel really bad. Seems the original owner was a guy that beat the piss out of him. He hates all men, except me, since I feed him and remind him I'll kill him if he tries to bite me in the penis.
I've had labs and retrievers that a stranger could come up and twist their heads off and not be growled at. Why anyone would breed a strain of animal capable of that behavior is beyond me. My advice would be that unless you have terrific insurance, or just dig walking around with a nasty fucking dog with a spiked collar, then avoid the breed.
On the up side, we haven't locked our doors in five years.

It's definately the owner not the dog. When they're bred for fighting the sick bastards who breed them torment the life out of them by picking them up by their ears and swinging them around, or stumping cigarettes out on them, or hitting them constantly with a stick. You can't blame the poor dog for attacking a human, they've been pushed to their limit and that's why they snap, it really upsets me. The pitbulls who end up in rescue centers are the ones which have been abandoned because they're not as agressive as the owner wants them to be. And when they do turn out agressive and bite somebody or kill another dog the poor things are either shot or given a lethal injection, the dog can't win.

Look at these pics, I believe this is the true nature of the Pitbull before they are pushed and pushed and pushed until they snap.

These are some of the more familiar images of pitbulls, this is the image most people get when they think of a pitbull. God love em. How mean do these fellas look? They look pretty serious don't they?

I thought all Pits were crazy until I owned one. They are naturally reserved, almost shy dogs.Unfortunately there physical characteristics make them ideal for fighting ie. their powerful jaws, build, and musculature. Now my Rolo is a sweet dog,but doesnt compare to the intelligence, and responsivness of my German Shepard/Chow Squaw Dog.-usdi Agaluga

It is a provin fact that pitbulls were the #1 dog that attacked people most last year. I don't talk shit about them normally, i just don't like the fuckers. I know a shitload of people that has them, their just not for me. and i don't think their cute at all

ACTUALLY poodles had the most bites on humans. I doubt poodles ever kill a human, but those fuckers are mean. Pitbulls are protective, if you cant control one around new people, then dont get one. Its not "in their blood" to be agressive, its in their blood to be powerful and able. Pitbulls dont bite the most, but I wouldnt doubt if they had the most kills, just because if they do attack theres a very good chance that they will kill.

small dogs have way more bites than pitbulls, but when a pit atacks, its commited. it could be deaths or serious injury, but I have owned large dogs all of my life and guard dogs for the past eight years and the only two dog bites I have suffered were from strange small dogs. 1 was a beagle, the other a caren terrier. I had to get stitches and that was all, the beagle then got mauled by one of my dogs, my argentine dogo (which recently died :( ) and blah blah. it was a mess. they sued me even though I did nothing to sue them even though I had an over 2000 dollar hospitle bill, then I had to pay a lawer, but it was ruled my dog was being "correctly protective" so I say fuck them little dogs

They can be friendlier under the right circumstances, but still...they can be E-VilE.

i read spaniels and beagles have always been on top of the list for bites...i can see pit bulls being #1 for kills but am sure the total count can be done with your fingers.

i have been around several (never owned one tho) and all were/are among the most chill dogs i've had the pleasure to meet! i believe it's mostly environment, and part genes as to what makes pits killers...all dogs bite. but the pits i've known were all very intelligent, loyal/protective and fun! some home owners' policies won't cover if there's one in the home tho...something to check into.

Before you write Pits off you might look into how many of those that hurt ppl were trained to fight, or were abused.-usdi Agaluga

And my vet will tell you, the breed he sees most for destruction due to biting
is the West Highland terrier. Intelligent dogs need intelligent owners, consistant
training and something to occupy their minds. Pitbulls are fabulous dogs but
definately not for an inexperienced dog owner. Also go to a decent breeder and
don't give a penny to those disgusting backyard bastards only interested in
exploiting their bitches, litter after litter, for a few quid.

Why not go to an animal shelter and spend time with a few dogs, go back
for a few days in a row, don't rush into anything. You'll know when you've
found the right dog. Just remember that wotever you chose will have to be a
suitable animal for the lifestyle you have now - so don't go getting something
that requires a shitload of exercise, if you can't be arsed to walk to the
corner shop and back, know wot I mean? :)

That said, the very best of luck xx

animals are innocent and reflect the owner.

mean,cruel owner=ill tempered dog(of any breed)

if a dog kills a person it is the owner who should be put down, not the animal.

My old neighbor had a pitbull. The first time I ever saw it she came running down the street towards me as I was getting out of the car. I jumped back in and was trapped for 10-15 minutes before she decided to leave. Turns out she just wanted to play. Sasha was one of the friendliest dogs I ever knew.

The temperment of any dog has much more to do with its owner than its breed. The problem is that most, but not all, people who get pitbulls get them because they want a bad ass dog. Even if they're not raised to fight they're still raised to be mean bad asses.

It's like that old saying "Guns don't kill people, people kill people" Well, "Pitbulls don't kill people, Assholes raise pitbulls to kill people"
