hey i play highschool football, and i want something to help me build strong muscles with good definition and good strength, i work out for about 2 hours a day average and today i started taking protene supplements, its whey grain and vanilla flavored, tastes so good, like cake, and after only one day i feel more energized, and the level of sore-ness from working out has decreaced, i know protene turns into amino acids which build and shap he muscles, other than that im clueless, anyways my question is has anyone else here had any experiance with protene supplements, if so, what were the results?

Hard boiled eggs are a good protein snack...(nice and handy)

I also like tuna fish sandwiches...

P.S. Don't foreget about your veggies.

Be careful what you spend your money on Koshea. The owner of a weight gaining supplements company was once heard saying something like - "I could put sugar in a tub and call it weight gain powder and they'd still buy it". There's so many scammers and rip-offs in that game Koshea, be careful. There are quality products out there but they're very expensive. If I were you I'd stick to eggs and fish, lots of fish especially tuna. At least then you'll know what you're putting into your body and it won't cost you the earth.
If you're gonna spend that kind of money on supplements you might aswell go on steroids.

I used to use those when I was younger and did notice some improvement with them. At least in terms of strength and size. They're gonna help you bulk up though which might not be what you want if you're after definition. Also, if they taste like cake that probably means they have a lot of sugar which can turn into fat if you don't burn it off. Extra fat will rob you of definition really fast. Think about most power lifters. they just look big, some even fat, but don't have that ripped look that most people are after.

If I were you I'd stick to more natural protien sources. Like others have said eggs, tuna, chicken breasts, that type of stuff. Also get some complex carbs in your diet. They'll give you the energy to lift more. A tuna sandwhich on whole wheat breat is probably a lot better for you in the long run than any protien supplement.

consume 1 gram of protein for every pound of body weight, whey protein is excellent as well.

you shouldnt work out for 2 hours a day bro..thats kinda pushing it..try 1 hour tops..
and yeah, protein is what makes muscle.. you can lift all you want, but if you dont eat right and get enough protein, nothing will happen

Actually when I used to be in the lifting programs for basketball we used to have 2 hour workout sessions followed by a practice sometimes too. It all just depends on how you spend those two hours. When you are working out legs and arms on the same day time flies by faster than you'd think.

well it is non optional, in order to play football at my school you have to go to our summer conditioning course, an hour for lifting weights and an hour for running, and agility work

1 hour for lifting weights every day is way too much. You overtrain your muscles thus no gains are made. Lift 2-3 times a week

hey i play highschool football, and i want something to help me build strong muscles with good definition and good strength, i work out for about 2 hours a day average and today i started taking protene supplements, its whey grain and vanilla flavored, tastes so good, like cake, and after only one day i feel more energized, and the level of sore-ness from working out has decreaced, i know protene turns into amino acids which build and shap he muscles, other than that im clueless, anyways my question is has anyone else here had any experiance with protene supplements, if so, what were the results?

we have lots of things in common....I played high school football, I workout for 2 hours about 5 (sometimes 6) times a week....I'm taking whey protien, that is the only supplement i suggest you take, creatine may work for you if you are really thin and trying to ack on mucle bulk.

Protien works great for me, I've added lots of muscle, although protien is not a muscle enhancer. It simply helps you keep your muscle and feeds it helping you recover.

Keep in mind all bodies are diffrent and everyone has a different goal, I have a big body mass and I'm trying to get as lean as I can by shedding off body fat and adding muscle at the same time. It's tough for me to lose wieght though.

All in all, my experience with whey protien is great. I recommend you continue using it.

P.S. There is no such thing as working out too much. My freind is a body builder (has entered several competitions) and he spends at least 4 hours in the gym 6 times a week (sometimes 7) bu8t that's only when he's going out for competition. Like I said everyone's goals are different, the harder you work the better the results. my 2 cents

First off, only take that whey stuff directly after your workout. Its so fast digesting that your body can only efficiently absorb it postworkout. Take it any other time, and it'll just give you expensive shit.

For football, you should probably grab a tub of creatine and a good multivitamin. 1fast400.com (sp?) is a good place to get both.

I'm not sure if you're trying to put weight on or not, but if you are, focus on eating a shitload, not supplements. A lot of young kids make that mistake. Good luck.

There is such a thing as working out too much. If you dont give your muscles any time to recover they will stay in the catabolic (breaking down) stage and will have no time to grow, before they are being torn up again at the gym. Overtraining is one of the biggest problems guys who want to bulk up fast encounter. I suggest reading some bodybuilding information, theres tons on the web.
