I'm a first grower. I'm growing inside my closet. I have 2 plants set up. My first question is before I want them to flower how many hours of light should they get. 2. How can I control the plants to stay under a foot tall.. and 3rd. will this stink up my closet? thanks for the help. :D

give 18 hours of light on...and 6 off every day for 2 months from seed....then after 60 days switch to 12 hrs on ...12 hrs off for another 60 days.....try lowryder strain..i dont think it grows over 18 inches and is an early bird......and of course it will stink up your closet..... best of luck

If I went for 30 days with 18/6 and 30 days 12/12 would that make my plant smaller?

Yes it would diminish your harvest yield.

Also, 30 days of 12/12 wouldn't allow full flowering. Plan on 8 weeks just for flowering.

i've found that smaller plants need longer for flowering because the plant isn't as far along in the stages of it's life.

flowering for 30days won't do anything...except that when you harvest after 30 days.. you'll be wasting your plant.

I do not mean to step on Harddons toes here but topping might be an option for you. At the 3rd node, "research topping" this will allow the plant to stay short well it fills out and also gives the plant time to mature in 2 months without growing so tall.

Or

Talk with harddon about how to tie the bitch down

either way should work. I will be posting a picture of our 2 plants, 1 is topped at the 3rd node well the other was topped at the 4th, keep an eye out for my post later on if you want to see it.

What do you mean by 'topped'

Do some research. Otherwise you'll end up with dead plants.

Unless you absolutely have to, DON'T TOP. Especially if it's your first grow and you're not sure about what your doing. Goodluck.
