need a good reason

i quit my job last week, so i put in my two weeks notice. i put in about a week, and just didnt show up today. right now im trying to win a fight with my mom for not going back, cause she wants me to work tomorrow(8 in the mroning - yeah right). whats a good reason for missing a day and not calling just in case i do go to work.

I'm sorry I didn't call. My god-mothers death came as such a surprise to everyone I wasn't really thinking straightly. I forgot all about work, with the visit to the doctors hours before she passed and trying to figure out funeral preparations with her family/friends, I forgot all about work.


If that doesn't work, whats the worst that is going to happen? They fire you? You're quiting anyways. The 2 weeks notice is a courtesy you give them.

You should atleast do the two weeks.you gave notice for.
then your Boss has nothing to come back at you with..
if your going to work tomorow just be honest.
and tell him/her you planned on not comming back BUT decided to Try to do the right thing by your work and fullfill the 2 weeks..
If your not ready for a job then you can atleast be responsable about it..
