I was just thinking and i came up with this. LIke people don;t think there are any living creatures on any of the planets so i just thought what if there were people just like us living in a different universe. Oh and does any body know if we can leave are universe.

I meant can we leave are universe in like a spaceship or something.

No. Best case scenario is that we have to travel between 12 and 15 billion light years or so, which is just impossible on any conceivable timescale. We'll never be able to say for sure whether other universes exist or not, as such they can effictively be said not to exist, for all practical puposes.

be patient fools, a few million/billion years from now, technology will do very unimaginable things. maybe.

i dont understand when people talk about leaving the universe... what could possibly be beyond it, other than more universe? just blank empty whiteness? a wall?

and if you say "another universe"... well then, what exactly IS a universe?

beyond universe is 4th dimension. we cant imagine it, were humans. just like beofre humans couldnt understand that earth could be a sphere, and thats actually the 3th dimension. i guess thats it, coz after universe its nothing, u cant go beyond it. universe is maybe just like a sphere, in continuous expansion

There is a multiverse.... an infinite number of universed seperated by vast stretches of matterless space. It would take very advanced technology to even figure out if this is true, let alone go to another universe.

The Universe is usually used to mean everything, so if there is another Universe then it would be a parallel universe that can't be got to through physical means. Or not just moving anyway.

apparently the universe kinda curves into itself in an infinite loop so youll never get to the edge as it just keeps going in an endless blob thats 1:000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 miles wide, and theres the meta-universe which is a million times bigger than that (so NASA believes), so yeah good luck with that

did anyone read this week that the worm hole theory (that theory that would allow travel across galaxies and maybe universes) has be blown apart?
For the time being anyway.
Its on newscientist.com if anyones interested

Yes, well, it was on shaky ground to begin with. It was proven quite early on that even if these wormholes did exist, it would take enormous quantities of energy to open them large enough for any practical vessel to pass through. The minimum - minimum - energy to do so was said to be on the order of that produced by converting an entire star's mass to energy, per e = mc ^ 2. That alone was enough to render it practically impossible in any conceivable human timescale. That is to say, there was almost no chance we'd ever be able to use a wormhole as practical means of transportation.

i think humans will be gone long before the earth is. of course there is the chance that the earth is blown up!

screwedcork, time isnt the 4th dimension, what are u talkin bout?

u have matter, space and time. the 4th is unknown

screwedcork, time isnt the 4th dimension, what are u talkin bout?
Uh, yeah it is. We've got a total of four spacetime dimensions of macroscopic extent. Three of those are the familiar spatial dimensions: length, width and height. The fourth is the time dimension. There may actually be more than one time dimension just as there may be more than three spatial dimensions, although there is no evidence for it, and theory does not require another, currently. The unknown dimensions are believed to be microscopically curled up, so tiny, even a photon would be gigantic, by comparison. There are believed to be possibly another 7 of these curled-up dimensions for a total of eleven. This is all well-explained in Brian Greene's The Elegant Universe.

if there was life on only one planet in the whole entire universe, then the universe would just be a big waste of space.

They say it's not a question of "if", it's a question of "when" the earth will be destroyed by a big ass meteorite(sp?) or an asteroid or something (I don't know the difference) :o

I believe we are all creatures working together like clockwork. I believe there is a much greater purpose we are all missing. If you look at the way this world and us work together it's amazing. Without one or the other, it wouldn't work at all. The moon and the tide, the atmosphere, I'm not sure exactly what I'm getting at. I'm just sure that if God put so much work into making it all fit together purposely, there's got to be a reason. They say he did it for our love, but what's love? I think we're all involved in some plan, I just hope I live to see it fail or work.
