There seems to be alot of problems with damping-off... I'm just amazed that so many "Pro" growers on here don't seem to know what that is, or can't even see the obvious signs of a very basic problem.

:o I don't know wether to be proud that i know my shit.. or sad you guys don't.

I'm very proud that i know my shit, and sad you have to resort to acting like a 11 year old when proven wrong

Well good dick. I am glad you have decided how you feel.

You feel both proud and sad.

Thanks for letting me know you pro.

Since I never experienced damping off, I had no idea...that it MIGHT be the problem.

But in *almost* every post you make, you summarize and boast of your expertise while at the same time demeaning any and all whom might not know.

I think you like to feel both proud and sad at the same time.

You seem to welcome it.

Might I reccomend some Zoloft or Xanax????

Took the dick out of me...

Might work for you too.

Happy GROWING BobBong... :)

of course if you picked up a book and read it, you'd read that damping-off can be very common to marijuana.. but then ... you haven't picked up a book obviously.

I've given and recieved alot of professional advice since i've been here.. and then some. I've read more than enough information on growing. I don't belittle anyone, the only person here doing the childish name calling is you. We've seen your type, and you're exactly the same...
This wasn't supposed to be a pissing contest, but the fact that you don't know what damping-off is shows me that your knowledge of horticulture is minimal at best.

You are quite right that my knowledge is minimal in horticulture.

Fuck I am on my seconds grow you dick.

(And yes, you name is now officiallly DICK when I see you.)

ONe day BobDong I'll be a pro like you.

Could you write a book for me????

I will read that.

A signed copy would be great too.

Thanks BobDong

Odd...I'm only on my 2nd grow also...but i still know what damping-off is?

Notice you're the only one taking any offence to the "Pro" comment i made...maybe if you didn't assume.. you wouldn't make such an ass of yourself.

I never once said i was pro, but i do know my shit.

sounds like you guys need a germination contest most seeds out of 5 to reach maturity wins put in a new contest thread each contestant needs to post updates on time loser needs to grovel at the heels of the pro :-)

yeah and lots of technical jargon in the posts for points

ha.. sounds like an interesting competetion, unfortunately i wouldn't win. I'm limited for space and although my knowledge of horticulture and basic problems is pretty good...i just don't have the space to grow.. 5 or more large plants...i can manage 2-3 at best.

That, and i have an inspection of my apartment soon so my current grow will temporarly be put on hold.

day 30 and she's showing signs of preflower.. it's a girl ;)
the other one needs repotting.. she should be showing signs soon.. maybe a few weeks after i do the transplant.

Ok Bob, so you;re like the brain surgeon who just got his brain surgery degree.

You know your shit eh?

I don;t know my shit and I bet I can grow as well as you.

Guess that makes me a dumb ass and you a smart ass.

Show us your grow...

I'd like to see how "knowing your shit" puts my grow to shame.

Two "PRO'S" I see here who post their stuff I see are Zandor & Sykobabble.

(GREEN DEVIL ALSO HAS AWESUM GROW TOO)

Anyhow, show me how "knowing your shit" translates into such a better grow. In 35 days.

Post it up.

I've posted mine since day 10 here so my record is 'on the record.'

I'll take yours at face value. I think I saw one pic or so of your grow. Looked good, indeed...but...

Please, show me how a "PRO" does it. If I can learn something, even from a BobDong, I'm all over it.

So, show me how its done...

Here is how I, not knowing a thing cuz I never read a book, am coming along...

#1...Cunt Day 18
#2...CUnt Day 23
#3...Cunt Day 26
#4...Cunt Day 31
#5...Cunt day 35

Yea we have all seen HARDDON's grows and they've had ooh's and ahh's but none from BobBong. But really stop fighting. If anything just like take it out on a pillow cuz that would do a lot more than typing away at the computer trying to prove HARDDON wrong. Goodluck to everyone on their grows. Kthx. Have a nice day! :D And don't get mad at me I'm just a person with ADHD...you're not ALLOWED to get mad at me. So there!

Yea I won't call Bob a dick or Dong anymore.

I am really stoned now so I'm cool with BobBong.

But I still wanna see how much better I could have done with my grow into comparison to that of BobBong.... :D

I express my sympathies for engaging in web war BobBong.

I love all people. :)

Except Islamic Radicals

Anyhow here is a pic of Cunt, Day 40, flower day 2...This is how she stands as of 10 minutes ago.....

HAPPY GROWING :)

ya know damping off is really basic knowledge anyway either the seedling makes it or it doesnt and if it doesnt then it wasnt strong enough anyways. I always plant more than I need and then weed out the weak ones. now to keep a plant alive for 5 years and use her as a mother now thats a sign of a pro.

The word for the day class is "Pythium wilt" itā??s a fungus that can grow in soil and most grow mediums. It keeps new seedlings from growing. It's not that they are bad seeds or anything they donā??t get a chance. It's a fungal condition that once it attacks gives up itā??s too late. There is no recovery for the affected plant. Mostly the cause is over watering or the fungi is present in the grow medium to start with and the humidity is too high. Most people have this problem because they use a tent over their seedlings to raise the humidity. The problem comes from not heating the grow medium to proper temperature (65-75 f) in the first place. Then you raise the humidity and there you go, perfect conditions for Pythium wilt (Damping off). The key is prevention with products like Polygragron granules added to your soil or Bak Pak, & Intercept work in the soil too. Try to avoid the ones you soak the soil with because over watering is a major cause in the first place.

As I have said over and over again it's all about the environment. This may be a weed but you don't need to treat is like one. From the second you decide to start growing you should think about how stresses free can I make life for this seed. Even your germination technique can affect the finished product and not even give your plant a fighting chance to survive.

Yes it all starts with the seed and how you germinate it. If you just drop seeds in soil then water, guess what? If the temperature is not right, the humidity gets too high you have a better then 50/50 chance of having a problem with Pythium wilt . Over watering and high humidity are the 2 of the way the fungi will grow even if itā??s not in the grow medium in the first place. You plant the seed to deep and over water and there you go perfect condition.

It all starts with how you germinate the seed (now where have I heard that before?)

Maybe a few will read this and think a little next time.
