This guy is Northern Lights, 8 days old. Its stem has something wrong with it that is starting to worry me. I tried to take the best picture I could but if you look just above soil level you see the stem looks like it is starting to die or is getting burned or something... I remember that happened with my last plant that died a few months ago. Does anyone have any idea what this is???

hmmmm...

now im no expert but since its so small could you not just plant annother seed?

it's called damping-off.

it's a bacteria in the soil that affects seedlings in their most crucial stage. you can get stuff to prevent it, but i'm not sure how recoverable that seedling is.

when you plant plants into pots.. always wash the pots out thoroughly to kill any pre exsisting bacteria


Try burying the stem in soil up to the first set of leaves, and re-pot into a bigger pot.. you could possible save her
