Whats happenin y'all? alright i got about 20 ak47 plants in a 2 1/2'x5' area with 16 40 watt floros on the walls and a 600watt hps eye hortilux bulb up top with 2 6" fans on each side sitting over a flood and drain system which i have been hand watering right now due to some problems i've run into. now the plants are nice and bushy at about 7"-9" except for a few that are stunted from transplant shock i think which i keep at 500 ppm for now, they're about 2"-4" and a few got burnt from the intensity of the 600 so i took it down for a moment. smart thing to do?. some of the bigger ones developed some brown spots on the leaves and i tried to lower the ppm down to 1000 from about 1300 and it hasnt worked so far. anyone think they can pinpoint my problem? oh yea and also what does it mean exactly when the stem of a leaf starts to turn purple?.....not enough nitrogen right? any replies appreciated. thanks.

Feed them more nutrients your PPM is to low. The spots are from nutrient deficiencies. Change your nutrients and start at 15 PPM. Your kannabis plants will grow even faster. If all is well in 2 to 3 days go up some more to at least 20 PPM. I know a grower with White Widow at 22 PPM and they grow like mad. Any lower and they show signs of nutrient deficiencies (same as the ones you mentioned)
If you have to much nutrients the tips of the leafs will burn and turn brown.

Kan answerd you're question, but in regards to the purple coloration, thats a P-K deficiency as well,a 12" occilating fan will work a little better....bonbon

No give them a couple of days to make sure all is well, in hydro things happen faster then is soil. I would wait 3 days to be extra safe, if all was good then i would go from 1500 to 1800 for at least 3 days if all is still good then 2000 on the four day. If you need to risk any higher only go one at a time and wait at least 3 to 4 days before going higher by one.

... If you need to risk any higher only go one at a time and wait at least 3 to 4 days before going higher by one each time until signs of nutrient burn appear then drop back 2. In time you will find out what your plant likes the best. Just have some patience and take your time (hydro will help speed things up) and your plant will pay you back in a more then one rewarding way.
I have watched some local growers plants for many years and even have my favourites that i have named. These growers know their plants very well and some plants are almost like a pet or even a child for some growers. I see lots of growers on the Internet behaving similarly calling them babies and what not.

thanks for the help....i didnt kno about the 3-4 days to up the ppm....anyway...i put it at about 17-1800 and the leaves started to curl in and made the plant look rounded so i dropped it back down yesterday to about 1500 give or take......the top leaves are lookin good but the bottom are still a little shabby. im hopin to get past this stage within the next few days. also, i broke my ph pen so im waiting the return of that and i haven't been able to measure the ph but i buy water at about 6.5 so i should be ok for now right? how many times a day do u water your plants by the way because i have mine at about 4 minute intervals 7 hours apart throughout the day and i was wonderin if maybe its not enough or too much? thanks for any additional feedback given to me.

for a medium like hydroton or hydrocorals and lava, flood every 4HRs for a 1/2HR ,for rockwool, every 8HRs for a 1/2HR,keep the res temp at 65-68fh,ph at around 5.5-5.8,keep an airstone or bubble wand going in the reservoir at all times, and top off every day....bonbon

The 3 or 4 days is just to be safe. Things happen real fast in hydro, you would notice nutrient burn with in a day or 2 in hydro.
I know local growers who run the water pumps 24 hours 7 days a week with out any issues. I would increase the watering cycle slowly, small increase every few days. Then again if it isn't broken don't fix it? Personally i like to follow all the experiments local growers do to see if they can improve the grow.
