Hey whats up, Im new to this growing thing. I made a cabinet, I would like some feedback on it. It has 2 mothers in the back, then six little beauties in the trays. Just put an A/C unit in it, much better now i can keep it at 75%. I have question though, it is much cooler at the top. Do I measure the Temp. at the bottom of the plants or closer to the light? Thanks and happy smoking.

Monitor the temperature at the average height of the tops of your plants, under the light. With A/C you need to add humidity to your grow area you should look to have the RH around 70% durning veg and lower to 40% the last month of flower.

it looks cool, very clean. You have put some thought into your design. Take some closer pics of you setup I would like to see more. What are you doing for odor control? Do you have a carbon filter setup on your exhaust? How far is that light away?

In a small area like that is where Mylar would really help with lighting over white paint. The difference is noticable and you should consider trying it.

I'm not using anything for odor control right now. I was going to look into getting some ona cubes, are those cool? What do you suggest I don't have a carbon filter in the exhaust. The exhaust comes right back into my house, it doesn't go outside. The light is 32" from the tops of the clones and about 20"-25" from the mothers. (400HPS) With the mylar, Sould I pretend it is wallpaper and put it all over the walls and floors? Thanks and HAPPY SMOKING

Mylar goes on the walls you don't need to put it on the floor. The gel stuff works fine for a week or so but it does not work for long and the time you need it to work it wont. You are dealing with a female after all :)

Build a carbon scrubber it's easy and takes only a few minuets here is how you do it.

You get 4 furnace filters not cheep ones and not expensive ones. Get the ones that cost about 5 bucks at HD. They have a metal screen on one side to add support. Place the first one with the metal down. Add 2 pounds of active charcoal and spread it around (I get mine from the fish store that sells pond stuff it cost 4 bucks a pound). Then you place another filter (screen side down) add another 2-pound bag of charcoal then the third filter and the last 2 pound bag of charcoal. Last you want to place the last filter with the metal screen side up. Line them all up and use gray tape to seal all the ends together so the air can only go through the filter and not lose any charcoal out the ends. Make a box that all 4 filters fit snugly in. At the top of the box leave about 8? of space. Install your fart fan at the top of your box the 8? spacing will help to even out the air pressure on the intake. Now I use a furnace screen like a house uses slightly larger then the filters so with 4 screws I can change it out and access what I need to. Mine is installed in the roof and the return just pumps it back into my room. Really it??s that easy the whole thing is to seal all the filters together so they are just one thick filter and to have the air gap at the top so your fart fan does not just draw air from one place in the filter. It really does work.

Damn Zandor...you just need to make a link with a scrubber set up to save all that typing on the odor controller.

Anyhow, here is what I did to make an odor control unit...works perfect though I prefer the smell of rnak skank weed....it keeps the wife happy anyhow...

Just a charcoal carbon screen taped over the outlet....

Works perfect.

it's copy paste dude.....lol I keep notes on my FAQ for obvious reasons. I like the smell too; in fact the smell can help diagnose plant problems too. Being legal you would think I could not bother with odor control but I do. I like my privacy so I still use odor control full time more for my wife??s sake then mine

Active carbon has rid me of the odor from my grows and I guarantee you do not grow your plants as big as I do. So you could not have the intense odor I have and it works for me. I run a sealed room with A/C and I have one stand alone running 24/7 and one in the ceiling where my exhaust is for when I need to change out the air completely once every 6 hours for 5 min.

Thanks again for the carbon filter tip, I'm going to try it. Well I guess the cabinet is good or it must be the system. The reason I say that is because, Those bad little bitches(girls) are growing like a mother fucker. The fan leaves are almost 7" from the tip of leaf to where it meets the stem. Sorry the pic is bad of the Fan Leaf. Here is am update on how they are looking.

what's the word on ozone filters? any of you gurus tried it? it seemed worthwhile to me when i read about it.

the idea is, they zap all the air coming out with UV light. really expensive though.

if i don't get any positive feedback, i'm probably going to get carbon filters.

i'm stockpiling all the supplies so i can start growing in about a month.

I have Ozone generators as well. I prefer to use the carbon scrubber. If the light goes out on your ozone generator you have nothing but with a carbon scrubber you still have passive air that is still cleaned even if the fan fails.

That's one way of looking at it.

Im thinking of changing to 12/12. Should I decrease the time slowly until I reach the 12/12 state, or should I go straight from 18/6 to 12/12? Will my plants continue t grow int he 12/12 cycle?

Im thinking of changing to 12/12. Should I decrease the time slowly until I reach the 12/12 state, or should I go straight from 18/6 to 12/12? Will my plants continue t grow int he 12/12 cycle? There are two sides to that debate. One say??s slowly decreasing the light over 7-10 day??s readies the transformation into flower cycle. The other side say??s cut to 14-dark 10-light for the first week for quicker flower. Then there is those that say just cut it in one day and let it go it??s just a weed. I??ve done the slow and the 14/10 and found they both flowered about the same time but the 10/14-week did show flowers quicker by about 24 hours. The end product was still the same.

Yes your plant will grow about 24" or more on average durning the flower cycle.
