This tank was given to me by a friend, it's a 35 gal. cichlid tank. Not my first choice of of stuff to put inside but my only choice(broke).I used to work at a huge pet store, this biggest in the U.S. at time. Was a very fun job just not enough money to live on,plus went out of bussiness because of PETCO.I've had it for about a month, its only got 4 fish right now.Fish tanks are very tranquil & help us to relax, take a puff & feed the fish

Please post some pics of your tanks or friends tanks!

I used to have fish when I was little, but it was too traumatizing when I came home in kindergarten and my mom told me she had to flush the fish down the toilet cause they died lol. Actually I didnt give a shit I thought it was cool that you could flush fish down the toilet. But I was an army brat and we moved around a bunch so the tank was given to someone in fear of it breaking, it was a kick ass fish tank. But ive been thinking alot lately about getting a couple pirahnas, my uncle has 2 and its kick ass watchin him feed living mice and pieces of steaks to em lol.

More like take a puff and watch. I can watch aquariums for hours when i'm high.

I like the bob marley poster over the tank, even though you can't see it, it's a nice touch to have a bob marley poster over a fish tank.

I've got an aquarium - it's got loads of plants, and quite a few fish, I'm getting quite successful with it, I've even had baby fish turn up in there.

If anyone needs help (I don't know everything) just ask.

If any of you are new to aquariums, make sure you do some research (buy a decent book) on how to keep the fish properly, you can't just put equipment, water and fish in, it's a lot more complicated than that (depending on what fish you have.)

Ya know what.... I think I might buy one, any experienced aquarium-owners have any tips on what to buy, how much, what fish loook cool when your blazed, and how much maintanance it needs.

Ok, here are some tips:

Remember that the fish are animals, not just ornaments. Look after their needs first, looks second.
Buy a reasonable sized book on fish keeping and read it all first, before you buy anything.
Not all fish live in the same kinds of water. Find fish that suit your water best, or they will die.
Give the fish plenty of room.
Don't put the aquarium on furniture not designed for it. When the tank is filled it will be very heavy, and will damage/break the furniture.

i have 2 frogs in my aquarium and a huge plant. i have neglected my frogs somewhat and forgot to feed them for about a week. I also had a lot of fish but the frogs ate them and the others died. All in all those frogs keep on truckin' man. Plus they eat almost anything.

BTW all i have is a 20 gallon tank with filter and light =$60
plant big=$1
fake log =$10
2 frogs =$10 total
some rocks = $5
fish food = $2

i have a 20 gallon tank. I had one fish(it was a small black molly) lived for 2 years and i dont know how. Just died, tank looks kinda sad, need to get more fish(all i have are two little blue/clear fish). Then a trippy one in a seperate bowl, and two frogs in another tank.

I have a 20 gallon too.

some neon tetras, mutant goldfish, algae eater..a siamese fighting fish..and 4 white clouds (lil "feeder" fish..but nobodys gonna eat them now)
plus like 11 plants.

its awesome. everyone gets entranced when they look upon my underwater utopia. you cannot resist it.
supposedly, contemplating nature puts you in an altered state. so, simply having an aquarium around keeps you altered, relaxed. heh...pretty fishies :)

the appeal of an aquarium is being able to play god.

You can't feed frogs on fish food, they need live food. Try meal worms or something like that, or check with the shop you got them from. As frogs are amphibians (and so cold blooded) they don't need a lot of food, so they might not be eating but still alive.
