I joined the Army Jan of 2001

I told the recruiter I use to smoke Marijuana and of course he took me in the back and told me how to lie when I went to MEPS. We all have heard these stories and some of us know it is true. If the Military does not care or at least will let someone join if they hide/lie about their use of Marijuana, wouldn't it be easier to just legalize Marijuana? If the Army does not care and we, "pot heads" are good enough to serve our country and die for it, shouldn't we be allowed to smoke it? I guess Marijuana is not that sever of a drug that it keeps you out of the Military then I do not see the problem.

When I get high on my own time, I still can wake up and perform all my duties the next day, I can still kill Iraqis and make Bush happy and still be a tax paying, law obeying citizen. Do I really need to spend time in Prison because I smoke Marijuana? Does the government really need to break up families and have kids raised without a mom, dad or both for years?

The government can turn their heads when it benefits them but when it is at no benefit to the government they can and will do their best to send you to prison.

Think about how many families have been destroyed, how many men and women have gone to prison and have been raped, beaten up and lost their life as they know it because they smoke a little weed for recreational use or Medical use. This is a country that at one time would send you to jail for not growing Hemp. "You could be jailed for not growing hemp during times of shortage in Virginia between 1763 and 1767, and during most of that time; hemp was legal tender (you could even pay your taxes with hemp".

But I probably did not need to say all this as most know how fucked up the Government of America is about its laws on Marijuana.

The government would rather break up families and destroy lives than let someone who needs Medical Marijuana use it

God bless the fallen soldiers of the Drug war on Marijuana.

Final note, I agree with the drug war but not against Marijuana. I would rather see the government attack Heroin and drugs like that but that brings me to another thought.

It's easy to get paid 6 to 7 digit figures and say everything is great and live high on life but what they do not understand is that there are people who do not live as well as government officials and to help ease the pain and hell some of us live through day after day a smoke or bump is a way out of this hell, even for a few hours. Maybe the government should do more to make sure everyone in America has food on their tables, has a good paying job and make life easier for its citizens. Think about how much good all the money we have put into Iraq would have done if it was spent here at home. Now we have base closings around the way that will kill many cities and jobs around the country because we need more money to support Iraq and future wars, "Korea/Iran".

Maybe the government should fix its own economy and poverty problems before it tryâ??s to fix the world.

This just goes to show you that the average person could care less about Cannabis. People still respect the laws though and as long as it is illegal, then we will have to find a way around that. If the government is against it and you work for the government then of course you have to follow the rules or take that chance of getting caught. When I was in the Marine Corps, 80-90% of my infantry platoon, used drugs recreationally. Most of us stayed away from cannabis though, because it seemed like people were getting busted for it all the time. This led most of use to use shrooms, LSD, and E a lot because we could pass the drug tests easily with these instead. It's sad to say, but I have seen more Marine's die from alcohol that anything else and this killer of troops is a legal and accepted form of recreation.
