I have a house for sale [see below] that would be very desirable to the type of person who may frequent this type of site and thus the lifestyle that supports it. What makes it unusual is that it sits in the federal NO FLY zone protected because of Camp David

Nothing can fly over here without permission that is given only in rare emergency circumstances.

There is an area on property for as large of a green house that you could desire that is already supplied with water and 220
electric .

2 steep paved driveways will unsure that no one can enter the property in a hurry , and sensors could easily be installed

$ 550K

If this is not the forum for this kind of post could I get some direction to a sight / forum that may be more appropriate ?

The Land

The property is 19.46 acres that is about 3 minutes off of Route # 15 in Thurmont Maryland . If you are familiar with the area it
is in the mountain behind the Shamrock Restaurant

Although accessible to amenities , it is very secluded with the closest neighbor about 1/4 mile away and can not change

The property has about 1600 ft. off road frontage and a 1400 ft. trout stream that runs all year . The property changes in
elevation from the stream to a 1000 ft rise on top . Deer ,turkey , squirrels abound and a nesting pair of Red Shouldered
hawks have made this home for the past 2 years

The House

The rancher house was completed in June 2004 . It measures 30 X 60 with full walk out basement . The exterior siding and
all trim is cedar . The roof is long lasting metal

The interior features a wide open floor plan. Ceilings are cathedral covered tongue and v -groove wood with a natural finish .
Large summer beams give it an unique look

Most walls are tongue and groove "Pickwick " knotty pine finished natural . One long interior wall is dry wall with a pickwick
wainscot .floor coverings are tile [ lots ] and berber carpet

The kitchen is 20 x 16 with lots of cabinets [ maple ] and counter space. Appliances are a dishwasher , refrigerator , stove
with oven and also a drop in Jenn Air .There is also a separate bar sink in counter near living room. Off of the kitchen is a walk
in pantry and a separate laundry area .through sliding doors is a 10 x 25 walk off deck

The living room is 16 x 60 with a Rumford fireplace on one end . [ The Rumford design is like you see in the houses of old , It
actually HEATS and I have had flames 4 ft tall in there ], it has a Travertine marble hearth .This room is great for entertaining
and has lots of room for furniture . There is a half bath and two small closets also

The master bedroom is 15 x 15 with a 10 x 5 walk in cedar closet . There is also an entrance enclave with french doors and
large slider door to outside deck

The master bath is 13 x 13 with very large Jacuzzi tub and 5 x 5 shower with duel showers and controls .The walls are dry
wall and cedar and the floor and shower walls are tile . All fixtures are Kohler .

Other features are lots of windows , lights , receptacles and ceiling fans . There is a
6 x 60 deck on the front of the house that wraps around with a gorgeous views of the valley and College Mountain . Sunrises
here are spectacular !!!!

A 5 foot stairway leads down to a full finished basement . Here we find a full bath and two bed rooms , full bath , and a large
great room .There is also a kitchen / bar and has washer dryer hook up in utility room . There are windows on the front wall
and double walk out french doors , This area is very open and has an airy feel
There is a stone hearth for the woodstove with a heat collection system that forces heat through the existing duct and heats the
house evenly

Construction

Let me be clear , I built this house . I tend to over build things , and tell you where every last nail is in this place . With that said ,
the foundation is a combination of block and poured walls .

The Quiet Floor [tm] system is on 16 inch centers so you can walk across it without the dishes rattling in the china closet , the
sub floor is guaranteed for 50 years . The walls are 2 x 6 also on 16 inch centers with R-19 insulation and vapor barriers inside
and out . Ceilings are R-40 with vapor barriers . There are electric base board heaters but I do just fine with solar gain and a
wood stove . But for convenience there is a heat pump and central air

Garage

The garage is 40 x 64 with a separate apartment [ apprentice , inlaws , guest , caretaker ] quarters. It has a separate 200 amp
meter . 2 x 6 walls are insulated to R-19 . This building could be used for artist in residence , antiques , club house or any home
based business
