energy saving eh? hmm. if they work well that'd be awsome cuz then u wouldnt have a massive electric bill and the cops looking in ur windows to see if u have a growop..

Yep, they work just fine! I bought 2 self-ballasted125 watt 6500k's and only use one now for their intended purpose. Thinking about making a clone chamber for the other one now..... Nice and cool and lumens-o-plenty.... two things, 1- the base is 1.5 inches (mougul) so you have to get an adapter or buy the cords, you know how it goes, flashlight- .50, batteries 5.00. :confused: 2- they don't fit in a lot of hoods. The one I've got in my hand now is 14"x 3 1/4.. so plan accordingly..... maybe www.onlinemetals.com can help you? They come in 95, 125, and now, 200watts too! As much as I like them (my 125's that is..)I would'nt buy the 200 watt. I have'nt really looked into it but after 125 watts it's probably just as good to have a 150 or 175 watt H.I.D. as it is to have a 200 watt fluorescent.
