Hey all!
I recently received my order from the UK and figured I'd throw up a grow log for the purps I'm attempting. I'm doing one Dark Devil and one Black Cream. I would have liked to do more, but at the moment, my grow space is limited. (I have three mothers and two very nice clones in flower stage atm). Anywho's I started the seeds in the paper towel/plastic baggie method, and both of the seeds I chose cracked and sprouted within 24 hours. After 48 hours, they had hit 1" long, and I got them in some soil. These were the fastest sprouting seeds I've ever seen so I'm very confident these are good, strong strains. On to some pics:

The first pic is the order I received. Obviously, there's the Dark Devil and Black Cream in the breeders packs, then there are the freebies they sent along. The freebies are: Sleestack x Skunk #1 on the top, and White Widow on bottom. Where I am we have a bunch of crappy smoke, with the occasional connoisseur strains that pop up, but are hard to find. Too many stoners in my area! Anyways, I'm very happy with the order and the freebies. If everything goes well, I will be sitting pretty for a long while 8-). Can't wait to free up some more room for the SS and WW... but we'll have to do that another time.
Picture number two is the germination setup right before I put them in soil, and then picture number three is a snap of the little baby sprout right before planting.

Love the purps, will sure be watching this log. I find getting good purps inside, quick is a challenge.

Not really. If you have the right strain like GDP or 'the purps' they just do it all by themselves. Purple as a people-eater. I don't grow any purps like those. My BIL does. He is a very amateur grower and his purps are purple.

Well, got everything set and in the soil this morning before passing out. Checked on everything once I woke up, and the Black Cream has already breached the soil! (~12hrs) At this rate I'm half expecting to see the Dark Devil pop its head out this evening and maybe actually have them standing up with the first leafs out by tomorrow. More pics when that happens!

Well, both have broken soil now and are standing up. Dark Devil has spread out and the first couple of leafs are showing nicely. Mr. Black Cream seemed to be having a problem with shedding the seed casing, so I helped it along a little and removed it, very carefully. Here's todays pic, I'll probably start going to once a week from here on out.

Hey Keiser lookin good. Is this going to be an outdoor grow or staying indoors? Looks like sunlight on the cups because of the shadows to me. I'm looking forward to watching them grow!

I'm in a prohibition state, so everything is going to be indoors 8-(. I would love to try an outdoor grow, but as paranoid as I am at the helicopters already, that'd probably give me a heart attack.
The shadows are strictly from my photo lighting setup. Every time I use the camera's built in flash everything gets white washed so I have a little directional light off to the side I use. It should be a little better once they're big enough to get a decent pic in the grow environment.
On a side note, my state did decriminalize possession of small amounts, which is a step in the right direction. I'm actually hoping with the advances in Colorado and Washington, full legalization is on the way. In that spirit I'm trying to get ahead of the curve and be ready if it does happen 8-). In my mind it's only a matter of time.

At least your state has started, here they still see it as way to get money.

I think it's mostly all about the money. Funny thing about the gov, the more they get, the more they want. You simply can not give them (in their minds) enough funding for their black ops.
Oddly enough I was thinking the same thing, in that, besides the prohibition started by the paper companies and such, its been left illegal just so people who want reform will be frothing at the mouth to pay (exorbitant) taxes for a little freedom. One of the great things, IMHO, that Washington and Colorado have done is institute the law that allows people to grow for their own consumption. That, of course, won't stop sales or trade because everybody will want to try new stuff, but it's a big step for freedom.
A lot of people I know who aren't stoners, or even casual smokers, are like "Yeah, what's the big deal" They understand that the "War on drugs" is bad, and that legalization will put somewhat of a hurt on the cartels (in the end, they'll just move to harder stuff), but they also don't see the fact, that it is a battle in the ongoing war on freedom that we are making progress in. If we can organize enough to get this done (and we're a bunch of lazy stoners, mind you) we can overturn other unjust laws.
Nothing in this post should be construed to be anti-government... I actually like most of the things we do, not all, but most. I believe in peaceful resistance to unjust laws.

You know, I've been out that way quite a few times in my life. And although there are some definite benefits, there's still too much control, tax, and anti-gun propaganda for me.
Amazingly enough, I've been a stoner for 25 years or so, and a firearm owner all that time, and I've never gone crazy or even needed to use my weapon for self defense (bless the Lord) but I'd hate to lose out on that right over a little smoke.
I'll leave with a Frank Barone quote.. "You all know how I feel about California? The land of fruits and nuts!"

And people, especially rich people, hate to pay any money. Many understand there is a public need. So what you do is make somebody else pay the bill!
And if you can punish the "bad" and make money, that's a twofer. And then you get forfeiture laws that some really love! Local cops are railing right now about their budget, they haven't got enough though their "hard" work and need local govt to step up. To which the bosses say, make the bums pay, not me.
Our esteem governor has stated, that controlling our border, against the scourge from Colorado, is going to help balance the budget. So you get increased patrol personnel, camera on poles for surveillance, and now drones to watch it. All of which costs even more. Might be our savior, in that I hear more about the cost of incarceration of non-violent. And that if we could just "sin" tax it, problem solved. But most here know I'm the uncle with the tin foil hat.:tin foil hat: but that's just me thinkin:bigsmoke:

Well, I said I was going to start going to one post a week, but I guess I'm a liar. Today's morning check found both spread out and shot up to close to 2". I did a little research, which in hindsight should have been done earlier, and found out the autoflowers really do not like to be transplanted. Considering how tall they had already got I figured I'd be losing ground if I didn't go ahead and get them in their 'permanent' homes. Here, in today's batch of photo's, is the seedlings right before planting, and various shots of them afterwards.

I feel like I've kind of screwed things up already with having to move them the first time, but I guess it's a learning experience. I also feel like I may have put them in planters that may be a bit small. One of the videos I was watching on YouTube the guy mentioned he was using a 3 gallon pot. I don't know what size I have, but by the looks I would say a one gallon. I went with them anyways because that's all I have at the moment, space concerns, and the clones I have in the same type planter are doing very well and they are already the size these are supposed to get (about 3-4 feet). I'll post some shots of those in a few for comparison.

Alrighty, here are a couple pics of the clones I have in flower. I have no idea what strains they are, but I got to say the shorter one (I call her mom1) is looking pretty nice!

I've got the light set about 6" above the top of the clones. As for their size, that's more of a screw up on my part. I'm still pretty much an amateur, so much so, this is my first experience doing the mother-clone process. When I cut and rooted these, I was under the mistaken opinion that once they hit flower cycle they stop growing vertically and just budded out, so to stretch out my 'bang for the buck', after they had rooted and been transplanted into the soil, I kept them in veg for about a month until they got the size I wanted. (Or the size I thought I wanted anyways, lol). Thanks to Catbuds for straightening me out on that.

Keiser when cloning any plant, you want to make sure the cutting reflects the most growth-heavy phase of development. This is a general rule and for Cannabis it may be bent one way or the other, and I don't pretend to know the rules in depth.. The experienced peeps here like catbuds are the best resource. But in general a plant in flowering stage is not putting chemical energy into things like rooting and vegetative growth, so it's hormone balance is all wrong for cloning. Take tops that are actively growing and healthy and you will rarely have problems. Unless your screwing up the rest of it LOL. ;) I have made 15 clones of my Cannabis and every single one has thrived. I just followed the advice of my elders to the letter. I can hint you to directions that have worked perfectly for me (I can't post links) but there are some good guides right here in Cannabis.com. Gotta dig!

Well, not much to report really. Seedlings have taken well to the permanent containers and continue to develop. They've grown to 3-1/2" tall, and the leaf mass of the starter leaves has increased to about 200%. Like all seedlings, they tend to bend toward the light (if it's off to the side instead of directly above) so I've been monitoring that and rotating them to make sure they stay straight. They look pretty much like all happy little seedlings!

The one in the rear is the Dark Devil, and the closest one is the Black Cream.

Well, little ladies are plucking right along. They're up to about 6" now, and the second set of leaves are starting to poke their heads through fairly well. The Dark Devil in the rear there seems to have taken a spill. When I went in to check on her one night, she was leaned over pretty bad, and had already turned to face the light from the leaning position. Guess I was a little late on staking them up, or maybe a little strong on the fan. Either way, I staked her and tied her, and little darling seems to be recovering well.

Six inches, second set of leaves, more light. Or closer

I have produced cutting while in flowering stage- decided I wanted to try to keep a mother after flowering- what I did is not scientific but it worked.
I actually gave a FULL dose of nitrogen while in full flower- then 7 days later took a cutting from the lower growth - it struggled a little but did fine….the struggle was similar to when the cuttings are a little cold - it rooted a little slower ( about 7 days before seeing the nodes where the roots come from) and then about 14 til I had viable enough roots to put in soil.
Not sure if this is a sure fire way- but it worked for me….

Greetings again, all!
Just a quick update. Things are progressing, albeit slowly. I ran into a number of problems starting this grow out and have determined I really just was not ready for it. I got over excited and in reality should have waited to clear out some more space and free up some lighting. Everything I've got going now is set up in either the mother veg area, or the flowering area, and a couple of new seedlings did not fit in well. I've solved most of these issues and got some stuff straightened out with lighting issues I was having. The plants are now starting their 3 set of leaves and seem to be doing ok although I am watching them closely. No new pictures for now, they still look pretty much like any other of a million little seedling, but when they start filling in, I'll post some more shots.

They may look like any other of a million seedlings, but they're your babies! Nice job solving the issues that you've met.
How tall will you let them grow before flowering?

Heh heh, that is very true d00g! I do love them like a child!
As far as how tall they will get, since they're auto's I've been told/read that I won't be able to control when they start flowering. They'll start between 30-45 days with the life cycle of the plant being anywhere from about 70 to 90 days. That being the case I've also heard/read that when they do hit flower stage, that will be it for vertical growth for the most part. So the conclusion was that they'll probably be about 3 to 3-1/2 feet tall which is the norm.
This is my first auto experience, so I guess we'll just have to wait and see how things work out!

Greetings all!
Been a bit since I posted some pictures, so I figured I'd go ahead and throw some more up even though the plants are still in 'recovery' mode from a bunch of stuff I had to get straightened out. Like I said earlier, I was overexcited and really should have waited until my current flowering cycle was over to free up more space and/or lighting. That being said, I've been trying to baby them and they seem to have responded fairly well.
So, it's been 30 days and most of the other grows I have seen with these strains, the plants are looking a lot better. I'll have to chalk this up to a learning experience and hope things turn out well. Anyways, without further ado, here are the pics. I'm going to break them into two separate posts.
First, the Black Cream pics:

And now, the Dark Devil. She's already showing some nice hairs, and is at the point where she's getting the side branches.
