I appreciate most styles of music but don't connect with rap, rock or metal. I listened to metal when I was younger but don't really dig music that relies on image or cult following much nowadays.

Right now I totally love drum 'n' bass, and for the production value, not the fact it messes your head up when your on class-A drugs (as is the culture nowadays). I hate how people diss it down, especially for being 'talentless'. It's the most sophisticated form of prog. dance you can get. Any retard can pull a dance or trance tune out of their arse but to produce a succesful piece of DnB takes effort and commitment. Anyone who says otherwise knows jack about music production.

Not that i'm an expert, that's just how I feel :D . I also love blues, funk, reggae, trip-hop, a bit of soul, jazz, a bit of hip-hop and breakbeat!

My bro who I do music with loves hiphop so I kinda follow suit (not so much love, just like), but there's a difference between hiphop and rap. Hiphop is the age old culture combining graffiti, breaking, scratching and MCing. Rap is fiddy-cent talking about gunning down hoes and poppin' bitches!
Hiphop doesn't so much rely on a hard image as generalise a whole urban culture from back in the day. I'd love to give examples but i'm not that hot on the subject :D . Rap artists like Eminem, 50-cent, Xzibit, etc need music videos of themselves with fat-ass hoes and lots of bling to attract an audience. All I see are a bunch of clowns who failed high-school :p .

Arabic is a really beautiful and poetic language, so is Farsi and Urdu. English and german are probably the least "musical" of the Western languages. Italian has been the favored language to set to music for centuries.

I will appreciate any music if it is good. my Fav is metal because they are just the best musicians in accessible music today. but only real metal, nu metal is just as good as pop punk if you take some time to consider it. If two genres of music have musicians with the same amount of skill, won't you think that they would write the same quality music? I like to think beyond an attitude, or a scene, and I listen to the music for what it is. The better musicians are bound to write the better music, if they have the creativity in their head. I like classical music, I like the concept of communicating emotions and storys without words. Have you ever tried to think without using any words at all? Think musically.

Naw but seriously I like everything thats 17 years or older, mainly old heavy metal like Pantera, and Slayer etc...cause thats the style of music I play and write on my guitar. I dont like rap cause they take the beats from other albums and mix em together to make it, which I think is a complete and total ripoff, like when they made that rap song out of crazy train <shudders just thinking about it> thats a classic! you cant rip it off! wtf is wrong with those people!?! And I hate all the rock being put out there because its all mass produced and not original, and the musicians dont even take the time to learn their instruments, the only new bands I like out there by people who werent in bands before (ie. Black Label Society, and dammageplan) are Shadows fall and Children of Bodom <--- their guitarist Alexi Laiho shreds like a crazy bastard!
