I am currently growing 4 young unsexed plants derived from seeds given to me by a local "breeder". He is an excitable and affable fellow, but I worry he smokes way too much of his product and his erratic, wandering descriptions of his operation leave me scratching my head. Anyway the plants in question are supposedly from a cross of Super Lemon Haze X Lemon Skunk. From what I can gather through researching the lineage of these two strains, there should be a predominance of Sativa characteristics in these plants, (Super Lemon Haze = Silver Haze X Lemon Skunk, Lemon Skunk = Skunk #1 X Citral). As you can see in the photos, the plants all display leaves which are quite short and wide.

296991these two have a tiny bit of a bushy habit, but fat leaves, 296992 these two are lanky to the point of emptiness, yet still sport the fat leaves. Compare with a clone from an Afghangooey X Lemon Skunk of approx. the same age 296993 Much narrower leaves, but denser, more bushy habit. So, how do these physical traits typically associate with Indica vs Sativa genotype? Is it just a roll the dice, mix and match type of thing? Does the prescence of the short squat leaves mean the breeder is full of smoke when he claims a Sativa-rich heritage? Or can leaf shape be controlled by even small amounts of one vs the other?
