So I've started my first grow after reading hours of this.
and other websites forums and I see how you guys can be really helpful with each other. So I'm posting this to see if you guys can give any tips how make my grow better. So started my first grow my seedling have sprout and are about a week old now. I have the in a speaker box with aluminum foil 3 computer fans and 2 light bulbs. I planted them in miracle grow, I literally spent no money on this so far :smokin: but don't get me wrong I've put in a lot of hours of work and reading to get wear I am with all house hold items. I started by putting my seeds in the water cup then in the napkin once I saw the stem I planted them and they sprouted 2 days after it's been a week since then and I have had some stupid mistakes when I was adding a fan I knocked the plants over about 2 days ago so I put something to support ad lower the stress. I've been watering them daily but with a water spray I just spray the soil when ever it's not moist. The plants when they look too dry. Any helpful thoughts or comments? Id be very thankful(:296293296294296295296296

Well, sir,
Don't feel dissed, this is just a little "truthiness".
That's pretty half-assed right there.
You will get out of a grow proportional to what you put into it.
Suggest that you click on the first link in my sig. and go back to reading.
Unless of course, this is a "troll grow" and any kind of attention will do. :)
Seriously, what is your goal here?
Aloha,
Weezard

I don't feel dissed, but can tell me why you believe it's "half-assed". And my goal is to get some bud (:

Look for the word, "everyt'ing"
Oh, what the heck, I got a minute.
Here is the LINK from the bottom of my message.
Everyt'ing: http://cannabis.com/growing/index.html (http://cannabis.com/growing/index.html)
Click on it and start browsing.
I'll let the rest of the guys fill you in on Halfassed. :)
For now, I'll say:
Your lighting is inadequate.
Insufficient light is what causes the elongation.
Dump the tinfoil and just paint the inside of the speaker white.
One seedling per pot, and start with a smaller pot.
If you do bring a plant to flower, you will need odor control.
Like I said, click, and browse.
Good luck, bringer of kaos.

Look, Weezard let you down easy compared to some folks who may have let you know in so few words. Workmanship is 95% of your grow. If you build it right to start with you will have less problems down the road. Take a little pride in your craftsmanship of building your box. Stealth is your concern, build accordingly. Layman terms, if your box looks like crap you will have problems and will not succeed in your quest. My suggestion is read, read, read and then read more, then and only then build a plan before just throwing something together, expecting a 1 foot cola in 8 weeks, just ain't happening pard.
A lazy man does it twice, but not on purpose. Strive to hide in plain sight not draw attention to yourself or your grow box. Good Luck!!!

Yeah , I get it , but the outside of the box looks exactly how it did before, I left it in the same spot as it was no one has even questioned it so I mean I guess I did that part right and I just built it off of nothing I spend no type of money on this. And a lot of my other 18 year old friends have done a worse job. Lol

Thanks for being straight up guys. Helps. I'm already moving a seedling to a smaller pot. I'm going to have to buy a new light for the new growbox but for now I just have one led light in I just hope it doesn't stretch because the other speaker is bigger but the led is brighter and covers every space in there so might not . If it stretches I think I'll just wrap it around something to hold it up next to the plant

Welcome to the forum. My 2 cents. Either experiment with outdoor growing or spend 1000$, and do a shit ton of reading, and start completely over. Unfortunately your current set up wont ever produce any buds.
I think:
Don't bother growing indoors unless u can use HID's
U need a tent or a well constructed space to grow indoors in.
U need ventilation and temperature, humidity controls
The single most important factor leading to success is environment control
Use good genetics (either known quality seeds or clones)
Tinfoil is a little silly. Reminds me of the trailer park boys tv show.
Miracle grow weed is like dusting a good bud in chemicals and smoking it.
Finish out your grow to help you learn what's up if u like. Make sure u are reading a lot and taking it in, focus on your next
grow.
Hope this is helpful info for you.
You don't really have to spend a thousand dollars but u need a lamp, ballast, inline fan(s), oscillating fan(s), and some good dirt, nutes of your choosing, room/box/tent construction costs, and some other stuff.

LED's are a modern, very efficient alternative for people that may be intimidated by high heat/electricity lamps and ballasts. The price is still high, but it's an option to remove some of the more intimidating initial setup.

I admire the resourcefulness, and it is valuable for your learning, but that won't do for long. You CAN grow just fine indoors with CFL's, but you are going to need more room when those sprouts takeoff. As mentioned above, ditch the foil...your box becomes a "convection oven". Rattle can it white, it's cheap and effective.
Separate the little guy's into individual pot like you are doing and start your new box while they get going.
Everyone starts somewhere, keep reading and looking and you will get there.
I'm new too, but I had a few more resources, (and room) and I still had issues. It's a learning process my friend, keep at it and you will be rewarded in both bud and satisfaction.

I'm new to growing MJ as well, but I have many years of experience growing plants agriculturally and for fun. Growing a plant to keep it alive is one thing, to grow it for agricultural purposes is quite another, especially indoors. You are trying to give this plant the proper conditions to thrive and produce at a peak level. That takes an investment of time and $$, and the patience to do things right. I would pick people's brains around here as well as get yourself a guidebook like Rosenthal's. Don't go half-assed. You don't have to spend thousands of $$ and being creative is strong positive trait, but be prepared to spend what you have to to get the correct equipment for what you're trying to do. But first figure out exactly what you're trying to do. What is your goal? Goals?
I don't mean to offend by telling you stuff you already know, but I think it's important for people new to growing plants that you must remember that this is a living organism. Despite what we may think while under its influence, it's not magical. It has very specific requirements in order to live and more importantly to thrive. Is your setup the kind of environment where you would want to be kept alive? I would guess not. I love the creativity people put into stealth grows, but at some point you have to be concerned about the plant more than anything else, or it's a waste of time.
