I would think so. I used a sunshade for the inside of my stealth box.

It's definitely a cheaper alternative! That's what I have in my grow box and have used many times in the past..but like most things you get what you pay for.

whats the price difference? i live in canada. i couldn't find any "mylar" at home depot, so i bought reflectix. it's pretty much bubble wrap with mylar on both sides. it's expensive and i think it insulates the box which might be a good or bad thing, depending. if i build another grow box, i'm just gonna use the blankets. but reflectix looks cool as fuck hahaha

After thinking about this question for a while, this is what I came up with. I thought about a human eye and a fly's eye. You can reflect a light off a human eye and the light would return in the direction of the light source, based on looking at a mirror. Now looking at the eye of a fly, it reminds me of the sun shade. If you shine a light on it, the light travels in a lot of different directions. This would seem to be better, sorta 1 dimension versus 3D.
Just thinking out loud....
Get stoned and give it a ponder....:stoned:

They say a flat white surface is better at reflecting light because it diffuses light instead of reflecting it which can cause hot spots.....
