Without seeing pic, sounds like spider mites. Yes, post pic. If its something else, treating for spider mites won't help at all. Take a spray bottle full of water & add 1 tablespoon of mild dish soap. Spray both sides of leaves, stems & all, even top of soil to wash plant well. If its not mites, this won't hurt a thing, & I do this to mine often as a preventive. If it IS mites, this will wash away/kill most of them. If its mites & you have a full blown infestation, you'll still need insecticide, but this will keep them to a minimum till you get bug spray. Any of the natural insectical soaps will work well. GET IT AWAY FROM THE OTHERS! Mites (& diseases) are contagious! Post pics soon. :) :) :)

You can see them with a magnifying glass. If your eye sight is good, you may be able to see them without. I can't, but I'm as blind as a bat. There's a period in their life when they make webs, but your REALLY infested before then. There's a name brand called safer insecticidal soap. Its exactly what is sounds like; natural plant derived insecticide in a soap. Very effective. There are many insecticides on the market for use on house plants. Since the growing season has ended, your best bet would be to call a florist & see what they carry for house plants. Unless of course, you have a grow supply store in your area that caters to what we grow. (Probably not) You may have to call several florists to find anything. You could google 'safe 'soap', maybe it could be found on amazon.com. Because insects develope resistance to insecticides, new ones are constantly being introduced, so you will have to read lables. But I'm betting you can find a florist near by who can help you. Most likely one who carries house plants. All don't. Some only deal in fresh cut flowers & a few dish gardens. But whoever you call, just tell them you need something for your dwarf orange tree. When you brought it inside for the winter, it exploded with spider mites. I'd been a florist since the 70's. That explanation won't be questioned. If they want description, say spots & webbing. But if you can, post a pic just to make sure. Might be a good idea to 'wash' all your plants. Sorry you may have to search. If it was still the growing season, you could find 'safe soap' almost anywhere, even walmart. (They didn't even have potting soil when I looked last month). Hope this helped. :) :) :)
P.S. as far as the soap bath goes, any gentle dish soap will do, my favorite is Joy. Non-ultra, old fashioned Joy. 1tablespoon into a full spray bottle of water.

Get lady bugs at your local nursery. They eat the spider mite eggs.

While this is true, I don't think you can find them this time of year. (Except maybe in the deep south). :)
-- Mrnicebud, it DOES make a difference as to where you're located. If you live where it gets below freezing, its harder to find things like that. You may have to hunt on line.

So what kind of mite killer were you able to find, was it hard to find? Nursery? Florist? Hardware? Things are SO very different from here to there. Seasons, products, everything. But we do all use the same seed banks! LOL! The growing season for my area just came to an end about 6 wks ago. I just had my first freeze that was hard enough to kill plants less than a week ago. Nothing was growing for a while. Once the days get short & chilli, plants just sit there waiting for a hard freeze to come along & kill them. Not much different from people in that aspect, are they? Well once the season comes to an end, its so HARD to find growing supplies. Florist & 'grow supply' stores are you're only option. Other stores don't re-stock untill just before the spring growing season starts the following year. Makes it really expensive for some of us, those who have to order at top prices + pay shipping & handling costs.
-- For future reference, just remember to do the soapy water thing about once a week as a prevention.& don't forget, EVERYTHING in the plant world is contagious, so apply your mite killer to all of them.
-- I dream of a world where cannabis is legal everywhere...maybe some day! :) :) :)

I'm so sorry I don't know what to tell you, but should be unable to find it, there are many recipes here for it. I've heard Rick Simpson Oil is the best. Good luck & best wishes for your brother.
