this is my first attempt at growing -please feel free to jump in and correct me if I do anything stupid .I have a cabinet lined with mylar and reflective tape using LED and cfl lighting and a fan in the back .I started two seeds I got from single seed center -one is auto fem anesthesia the other is white widow (not feminized)/I soaked the two for 24 hours and did a paper towel on a heating pad germination thing and 24 hrs later the auto anesth had opened .I planted it straight into black gold seedling mix (maybe a 1/4 ") and covered the pot its in w/ saran wrap. The next day the white widow was open and had root coming out,i did the same thing -i had to leave for the weekend and came back to these :D . have not watered yet ,soil is still moist and oh yeah I left the lights on 24 hours (didnt trust the timer I bought while noone was home-I was afraid it might get hot or something -i have really old electrical in my house and am always a bit paranoid of leaving stuff on ) So this is day four of veg 296067

here they are at about 1.5 weeks -i was getting worried about the Auto Anesth -its growing much slower and leaves were curling a tiny amount in certain places .I repotted w/ fox farm soil and the same potting mix today ,really hoping I didnt just really screw up.296188296189

Welcome to growing weed! It's fun and rewarding! There are plenty of folks on here to help ya along the way. How will you be feeding your plants? Do you want to grow organic smoke?

Couple things you should look at (common first grow screw ups):
Light leaks in your box. Temps. The more you can control your environment when growing indoors the better.
You will HAVE to use your timer when you switch to flower. I have seen a couple guys say they will just always turn on and turn off the lights manually. This is silly, life happens, weed naps etc

thanks for the reply :) -I am thinking of just sticking w/ the fox farm line of fertilizers this time-grow big and bloom and I can get it where I work (but I would definetly like to do organic). It is alot of fun! everyday cant wait to check on them .Since i have repotted into ocean forest soil I have a new set of leaves on both.

well the white widow turned out to be male (trying to remember exsactly what my reasoning was not to get femininized seeds:rolleyes:).but here is the auto anesthesia about 1 week into flower! :dance:296572

Nice job! You should take some broader pics of the overall setup so we can see everything, it will make it much easier to offer any words of wisdom that may help you! Other than that, the latest pic of those pretty leaves indicates generally good plant health and your lady is looking good :) What I will say based on the info I get from your pics is the same thing I say to others: ditch the Aluminum Foil! Panda or mylar are both very cheap (at my local hydro store - not sure about what may be available to you), they charge me $1 per 1'x10' spanse. So cheap and SO worth it for the "reflectability" and heat-angling that the right reflective material can provide! VASTLY better than tin foil, a worthy investment.

Nice job, good luck, and stay patient!

well heres some pics that show the set up a little better ,its modest ,a little embarrasing but it seems to be doing ok for now .Ive never tried 'anesthesia' myself (that i know of anyways :P).Im partial to the sativa's myself, but was intimidated to start off trying to grow, as a beginner .I do like the indicas to end the day nicely tho .296597296598

Hey cvmw, I definitely don't think your setup is embarrassing. I think any setup that someone devotes his or her energy to and uses to nurse one or more living things inside is great. I am going to have to pick up some Anesthesia seeds based on the positive reviews in this thread!

heres an update on my auto anesthesia ,I was afraid she was going to continue getting taller and taller and I would have to modify my cabinet (i have another one I can remove the lids and seal and stack if nescesary) but looks like shes putting all efforts into the buds and slowing way down on the growing taller .:D I am also super excited to be seeing 'white stuff' on the upper leaves. The buds are tiny still though .How much longer do you think I have 1 month 2 ? 297262297263

miss skunk> lower your lights

cvmw - if you were to TOP or FIM you plant it will grow shorter and bush out towards the side. for a small space this is ideal

otherwise nice looking 1st grow, KEEP growing

btw your Cabinet looks killer. NICE setup

you just flipped to a flower cycle, so I would pump them full of nutrients, something like a 0-15-15 NPK rating, this will increase the bud sites and promote more flowers sites. wait 3 weeks then dose them again with even higher. 0-40-30 NPK. this will promote more resin & THC.
2 weeks later; at this stage you should see dripping globs of GOO under a microscope or high powered camera. then 3-4 weeks your ready to harvest just feed water

More light, lower will help keep them more compact, but need to start early in your grow
